    Panel Shot

    Love that wooden panel!!!
  2. Changed AMO's and the problem was solved fairly quickly - the mechanical fuel pump gasket was "loose" which led to oil leakage and low fuel pressure. I've flown 3,5 hours since then and no bad symptoms - just quick fun. I don't want to know how that happened within a few hours of having my 6 monthly oil change done.
  3. Thanks N201MKTurbo. Not sure of its related, but I've lost some oil lately as well, with a leak somewhere very close (probably above) the oil filter, as far as I can see. I have not smelt fuel, but I'll try the pump on with mixture to idle cutoff and see what can be seen.
  4. Hello all, my J's fuel pressure reading (green arc is 14 to 29) shows the following symptoms: with electric pump off: - in flight, at altitude, steady below the green arc - taxiing, steady inside the green arc - when recovering from a stall without the electric pump on, she hesitates and the fuel pressure drops. - at low power settings, varies between just below and just inside the green arc - at higher power settings, below the green arc with electric pump on: - always close to top of the green arc. I am not due for an MPI for a few months and there is no Mooney AMO close by. Does it sound like the engine driven fuel pump is not producing enough pressure? She has 1170 TSN on engine, prop and airframe, since 1977.
  5. Thanks everyone - all the advice is much appreciated! I'll follow up these leads and make the right - decision - looks like it makes sense keeping a spare around here ;-). @Carusoam: I live in Namibia, in Swakopmund. My background is engineering but I'm flexible in terms of what I keep myself busy with.
  6. Hi all, total time is 1350 since new. Maybe it was just time. It was pressure tested 38 hours ago and was fine - now it's got a big hole in it - hence the questions.
  7. Hi all, looks like these are not easy to come by in my part of the world - any idea where I can get one and have shipped to Namibia? Part number is A630045-503.
  8. At my 50 hour inspection the AME reported that the muffler is shot and pieces of it is actually gone. He asked if I fly LOP - I said I do on occasion. He said that's the reason. Anyone else have an opinion in this regard? 50 hours ago the muffler was pressure tested and found to be fine - now it's a mess.
  9. Hello fellow Mooney owners, I need a few loose items including nav bulbs, but not easy to source locally. Are you aware of reputable parts / avionics sales companies that ship overseas? Regards, Andre
  10. Hi guys, I also need one, but slightly more urgently. Any available now?
