Oil on prop…

Those with this type of leak, what was the cause? Prop or crank seal? Changed the crank seal last week. Oil decreased. this was after a 2 hr flight. Old style hub, with a fresh eddy current inspection. Looks like its coming from the blade root to me.

Yes, I've read the SI 1oz or 6 pumps that's what I've always followed. Also read up on A/S 6 and how it brakes down and separates above a certain temp. It was 107* in PHX during my take off over the weekend. An rv-10 guy had a nice article about the same oil spray pattern. Don't think its te nose seal anymore.

Thanks for checking in.

You are correct. That is greese. Aeroshell 6 breaks down long before # 5. It's nothing to be alarmed about. FYI. Aeroshell #5 is a better greese than 6. It won't break down as soon an it's ability to hang on the internal surfaces is much better....#6 has a lot of wax in it to keep it from freezing in icing conditions, flip side is it breaks down with heat.
