Guest Anonymous Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 I discovered today that S39 (Prineville, OR) does not have rental cars anymore becasue Ford has ceased their rental car operations. I prefer this airport to KBND becasue it has better fuel prices, cheaper tiedowns and, anyway, is closer to some property I am considering for retirement. The FBO there is run by a couple, both very nice and very helpful. So, I am considering the purchase of an airport car. Thing is, a car for just my own use seems a waste, and ties up a little capital as well. I don't want to buy a new car, but maybe just an older used car in good condition. I am thinking about letting the FBO rent it, and they seem willing. We have some preliminary terms agreed, but I would like to know if others have any experience with this sort of thing. If yes, I would like to know about your experience, and your thoughts on the idea. Type of vehicle, insurance setup, rental limitations, etc. I know about the Airport Cars Club, but I don't think enough peeps come to S39 to make that worthwhile, and most of their other locations are not where I go. Thanks in advance, RFB

67M20F Posted March 22, 2010 Report Posted March 22, 2010 Thanks, they don't have cars anywhere I regularly go, so no good for me either.
