I did some checking and found my problem was the down relay (getting power, just not relaying) so I changed both up and down relays (since I was in there). Work great now. I was talking to an older Mooney pilot and he told me thats a common problem. He said when his use to do it, he would kick the floor and they would go down. Come to find out the relays are bolted to the floor just aft the pilot seat underneath. Makes sense why kicking would work.

My Gear intermittedly does'nt go down (comes up fine), but when I manually put them down; works for a while then out of the blue wont extend. Then motor is rebuilt, according to my logs, but dont see where relays were replaced; so I was going to try that. All safety switches and lights seem to be operating normal. Thanks for any suggestions.

Where is the gear down relay located?

Never mind, I bought one and put it in. Straight out no mod replacement. Works great.

Question, will the 149-NL install without mods? Straight out replacement?
