  1. Thank you to everyone who has contributed thus far! Non-compliance with 208B is a dealbreaker. Jeckford, if you don't mind me asking, where was the plane you were looking at? I think I may have found it.
  2. Hi, I'm in the market for a decent all-manual F model. Don't need 201 mods, GPS, or an A/P (though they would be nice), I can live with a bone stock IFR plane. If you have one or know of one, please PM!
  3. Thanks! That clears a lot up.
  4. I see. Thank you. So 22-#### would have been the Mustang? Quote: danb35 The yy#### convention was used until 1970. After that, they changed to a ##-#### format, where the first two digits do not signify the year; they signify the model instead.
  5. I guess I'm bringing this one back... I'm looking at AD lists and they list two s/n conventions: 22-xxxx and <year>xxxx. Examples, 22-1272 and 670241. Why the diff? Both are F model numbers.
  6. It's averaged 33hrs/yr since the top in 2003 (15hrs/yr for past 5 years). That's not the worst I've seen. I know what you mean though, gotta run them to keep them happy. Thanks for the MAPA tip! I'll take a look at it.
  7. Hi, I'm looking for the "hot spots" on the F models. I have the AD list and plan to dig pretty deeply into the books (and plane), but are there other critical components that should be checked? I've read just about everything I can get my hands on and there don't seem to be any huge issues with Mooneys. They're solid machines. My plan thus far: Log books Thorough visual inspection (removing panels and looking under the carpet) Compressions (400-500 smoh) A gear swing if I can get jacks My concerns: Corrosion: What are the must-check items? I've heard about a spar splice but haven't seen an AD for it. Fuel tanks: how often should they be resealed? Sorry for the barrage of questions. Just kinda nervous...first time buyer.
