  1. Is the mod your making a STC mod for C models or something your working on for the STC mod from the FAA? I have a 1970 C with the typical problems of the rear cylinders heating during the initial climb. I do all the typical things to cool the engine in the climb (increase airspeed to over 120 as soon as possible and step climb to altitude), the mechanic has swap the plugs/probes and checked the engine numerous times. The overheating is not real bad. Typically in the low 400's and mostly the #4 showing up as the problem. The engine is fairly new with less than 200 hours and pretty much firewall forward is new including the doghouse seals. The aircraft has the lower intake cover (Lasar mod) and 3 bladed prop. I seen some people have had success with the cooling issues but typically only after converting to the 201 style front end completely and strangely some people don't seem to have issue with cooling with just the stock equipment. So your Mod looks interesting. Do you need to replace the entire front cowling or this just a mod to the plenum box.
  2. It has an allen bradley type JS 2A 125V 10A 10V reheostat Can't tell how many OHMS with a resistor cross connected. I might give the guy at Don Maxwell a call on this but found on ebay some units that might work.
  3. I have a 1970 M20C. The panel lighting control does not work properly. The lights do come on but stay real low. Intermittently the lights will come on high but will not stay. I have replaced the fuses and inspected the control unit. I think the rheostat control is bad but cannot find a replacement or a model number. A couple people have recommend the Max pulse units but I am not sure if that unit will match ohms and resistance. The rheostat control seems integrated into the lighting control panel. I have considered replacing the whole lighting system but the existing system provide back lighting to various places on the panel and instruments and not sure what would work.
  4. I AM PLANNING ON INSTALLING HSI CENTURY 360 IN MY EXISTING PANEL BUT WONT REDO THE PANEL WONDERING IF ANYONE HAD EXPERIENCE WITH AN INSTALLATION. I HAVE A 1970 M20C PANEL WITH MOSTLY ORIGINAL AVIONICS AND PANEL CONFIGURATION
  5. The mooney I have is equipped with panel lights. During landing the lights went out and I have not been able to get them back on. I have checke the circuit breakers but no luck. Anybody with advice
