  1. Whats the price of avgas where you are? BC Canada, $5.78/gal
  2. I see about 14 and a bit in cruise.
  3. Alright, what is excessive oil temp in cruise this time of year?
  4. It was about 85 here yesterday when I went flying. I had about 200-205 in climb. Levelled of at 5000', maybe 65 OAT and it only cooled to about 190-185 ish. I think I have a temp issue. When I got the plane I was told the baffles were dried and stiff, and probably were not doing there job very well. When I had the cowls off the other day, they did feel a little stiff. The engine in this 67 F has about 1750 hrs. Will new baffles make a big difference? When it gets warm, should I leave cowl flaps partially or even fully open in cruise below 150mph IAS? What is the highest cylinder head temp I should see in cruise? I think I had about 370 on #3 (22, 2400). Ryan
  5. Thanks guys, I'll give these tips a try.

  9. Hi, The throttle cable in my 67-F is impossibly stiff in only the first quarter of stroke. Is it possible to lube and where? Ryan
  10. What a freaking chore this is for someone who has zero experience! I feel like I need to travel around with a spare batt and jumper cables. Man, if starter motors could talk...it would have mabe me blush on my last couple flights. So to all you high time mooney drivers out there, this rookie wants to know...how the heck do I start the warm IO-360-A1A im my 67-F!?!? Ryan the flywheel grinder.
  11. Does anyone know the measurements I need to make a fuel tank dipstick for my 67-F? Ryan
  12. Hi, When I drain the gascolator with the pin on the floor next to the fuel selector, should I get fuel from both sides? What could potentialy be the issue if fuel flows out from only one side? Ryan
  13. Thanks Ken
  14. Hello again all, I am looking to do some homework on my plane before I go train on it this weekend. Is there a secret resource online that I can get V speeds, emergency procedures and a weight and balance form? More specificaly, its for a 67 F. Ryan

    MoGas?

Excellent discussion. Thanks to everyone for your thoughts. This is obviously a fairly contentious issue and will presumably be for some time. It will be interesting to see what the future has in store for aircraft gas.
  18. Looks like an awesome bird Dave. Im going to get my '67F next saturday. I don't think i'm going to sleep much next week. Congrats. Ryan

    MoGas?

Any opinions on MoGas is a IO-360 A1A? Maybe blending with AvGas? Perhaps premium car gasoline?
  20. Other than not having wing mods available, are there any other negative qualities of the twisted wing experiment of '67?
  21. R/H is 20-40 inch-pounds low Nose gear insufficient .040, .010. Does this info make sense?
