  1. She looks small enough to fit in a Mooney All kidding aside, I hope she shows up and can give us plenty of insight into the current situation down in K-ville.
  2. Was there a timeframe that Mooney had in mind on certifying this new engine/airframe? I guess RR needs to get it certified, and Mooney needs to design an airframe first right?
  3. My own take on it, having sat in an F model once, in the right seat, with the door open, is that they're relatively comfortable for someone of my stature. It seemed to me like the passenger compartment wasn't as well designed as the rest of the aircraft. Of course, I am 6'2" and about 175 lbs. Perhaps that's why everyone thinks the panel is so close, their legs aren't long enough It didn't seem any closer to me than in the Cherokee I usually fly. Of course, I'd probably want to take another look at it to make sure that my assumptions are right
  4. Those are some interesting numbers. I hoe that this can become a reality for Mooney and not that they're putting something out there hoping to get some money to stay afloat. Something to challenge the Meridian makes me a little nervous though. After all, Lockheed and McDonnell-Douglas beat each other up with the DC-10/L-1011 and now neither of them are making civillian planes (of course Mooney doesn't have Airbus and Boeing to compete with either).
  5. It is an interesting concept. My question is, since turbines tend to do better up high, what about pressurization? As I understand it, the M20 airframe isn't suited for pressurization. Is everyone going to have to have a mask or is it just going to be certified to 25K? Maybe that's something they're going to have to figure out. For that matter, what about 6 seats in the Mooney? I guess I'll probably have to wait to see what hapens too huh?
  6. I like being able to scroll through the pictures once you've opened them up. Good feature!
  7. My name is Tim. I'm a college student, and really interested in Mooneys. I've been a pilot for a little over a year, and I got my instrument rating this past summer. Some day I hope to own a Mooney. I really like the F and J models. Of course the turboed 252 would be pretty sweet too. If anyone comes to Northwest Iowa (hence "NWI") and is willing, I'd love to take a ride and see if the Mooney experience really is right for me.
