Hi all, I’m about to pull the trigger on a replacement engine ( Lycoming TIO-540-AK1A) and I’m debating between going Factory New or Factory Rebuilt directly from Lycoming. Some context: My current engine is approaching overhaul time. I know the rebuilt option comes with zero-time logbooks and the same warranty as new, but it includes re-certified components. I’ve had bad experiences in the past (BMW factory rebuild that burned oil…), so I’m a bit skeptical about reused parts. Main concerns Is the factory rebuilt truly as reliable as a new one in real-world use? Have any of you noticed higher oil consumption or performance issues on rebuilt engines? Is the extra ~$60k for factory new worth it for the peace of mind (and all-new internals)? Any issues with warranty claims between rebuilt vs new? Would love to hear from owners/operators who’ve flown both or gone through this decision. Any advice, regrets, or things you wish you knew before choosing? Thanks in advance for any input! Dan

I installed and I flew a lot those days, works each time . The Holymicro i had before was working intermitently. On same wirring is the new landingradar seems to work perfectly Thank you for your feedback

Hi everyone, Thanks for sharing your experiences — it’s been very helpful. I currently have the SkyVoice Alert 500 installed in my aircraft, and while I appreciate the concept and the LiDAR range, I’ve been experiencing a frustrating issue: the unit goes mute about 30% of the time, usually during descent or final approach — exactly when I’d want it to speak. It powers on correctly, announces once, then often goes silent for the rest of the flight. I’m now seriously considering switching to the Landing Height System (LHS-200-B/C) because I’ve heard it’s more reliable, For me, stability and reliability matter more than 500 ft vs 200 For those of you who had the mute issues with LHS in the past: Has the mute problem been resolved in recent firmware updates or newer batches? Would really appreciate if anyone can confirm their experience after longer-term use Thanks in advance,
