  1. I'm maxing at 350 on a bad day! Cowl flaps closed and LOP. I've found higher RPM settings will bring hottest CHT down to 330 .
  2. I have a prop on my 231 that I might be willing to part with depending on value - @231MJ any idea what a serviceable, 500hr SPOH prop would be worth to you?

  4. I know this has been posted multiple times but having read through pretty much every topic on the forums I still have a few questions. I'm trying to figure out appropriate power settings for cruise LOP operations. I have the TSIO-360-LB7, Merlyn Wastegate, TurboPlus Intercooler and GAMI's with a 0.2 spread. For the purpose of this discussion, I am going to use Calculated MP, rather than indicated due to the intercooler. Current cruise setting 32"MP, 2300RPM and 9.5GPH. I believe this equates to approximately 131HP or 59% per one of Jlunseth's comments. Could y'all share with me your LOP power settings for cruise (MP/RPM/FF) and indicate if you have the TurboPlus Intercooler and if the MP is Indicated or Calculated. Finally, Thank You All for making Mooney ownership such and enjoyable experience!
  5. I take it the MP here is a calculated figure based on the Merlyn chart, temperature differential and indicated MP? I'd like to try this now that I'm intercooled!
  6. Mind expanding on what you mean here? I have a digital CO detector onboard that's never gone over 1ppm so far. I'll look for a portable one to confirm they concur!
  7. @EricJ I think that the theory my A&P has is as you said, the exhaust seals when the pipes get hot and expand sealing up. I'm 50/50 on this theory as there was some evidence of exhaust on the cowling, specifically on the cowl flaps, stemming from where the cowl flaps pivot in a white streak. Having spoke to a couple A&P's someone suggested the use of a ball peen and a sandbag to open up the pipe very slightly and tighten the fit. I'm still very much undecided.
  8. Hey All, I have an exhaust leak from the circled joint. It's blowing out towards the front of the aircraft (In flight its being pushed out of the cowling at the cowl flaps joint. My A&P suggested we leave it, any suggestions here on how I can seal it up bar replacement of the full exhaust system? Engine is a TSIO360LB Thank y'all!
  9. No aux tanks. Tanks are 36 gals a side. With 9 gals indicated reminding I can only get 21 gals in (a side). If I keep filling (brim the tank till its practically spilling out and the watch it settle) I can get more fuel in but I don't know how much more is feasible (Usually I give up after a while of playing that game) Never had an issue with water ingress, and I sump before every flight.
  10. Anyone have any suggestions as to fitting the fuel caps properly? I've had 2 instances where fuel has leaked from the tank in flight from around the outside of the cap. Cap appeared to be fitter correct both times. Also any advice of filling the tanks? Seems like I have air stuck in them and I can't get the tanks to fill fully. Thanks All!
