  1. Sorry it took so long to respond back. While I was dealing with that check valve and doing other maintenance (cylinder change) I found out my Camshaft is TOAST!! Now the engine is torn apart and I'm getting parts yellow tagged for assembly. Ive been looking at converting the LB to an MB, but can't really find any information online as to exactly what exact parts I need to get to accomplish this. From what I've read the STC holder passed. Anyone have any information?
  2. I did remove and clean both of the check valves. The supply valve spring was intact. That spring offered little resistance to the flow of oil but still closed. However the return valve, (the one with the little flapper door) the spring was there but it would open under its own weight if held upside down. Which points me in that direction as to the cause of the oil in the inlet. The other problem is that check valve is anywhere from $1250-$1500 new P/N=641068. All I need is a spring. Does anyone have information as to where to find that spring or overhaul the check valve? It seems ridiculous to pay 1250 for a whole new valve when I'm being held back for a $5 spring. For now I have positioned the valve so that the hinge is at the 12 o clock position and will close under its own weight. I'll run it up tomorrow and update on the results.
  3. Does anyone have access to the overhaul and maintenance manual from aero force. My turbo is leaking oil out of the compressor side into the intake system. I don't really want to spend the 625 dollars on the manual only to find out I need special tooling to complete the job. 400600-0000 E Aircraft Turbocharger Overhaul & Maintenance
  4. My k model low boost just took a crap on me as well. On the K it is a voltage regulator. Gold box that was located on top of the engine controls behind the instrument panel. I can't speak for the R. Try googling Don Maxwell mooney
  5. Thanks for being helpful hubcap. Is that other guy always like that?
  6. I just bought an 83 M20K with a GB engine upgraded to an LB. Does anyone know the differences? I spoke with a rep at Continental and all he could tell me was the fuel system. I also have the intercooler upgrade with the merlyn wastegate. Does anyone else have similar configurations? What charts are you using for power settings? I spoke with merlyn who is now Nord engineered products LLc and they gave me a chart but it is not “approved”. The same goes for the intercooler manufacturer found a chart on their website but it is not “approved” as well. I might be going overboard but I don’t not want to place undue stress on my engine. Also, has anyone had any oil samples prior to and after these mods on their aircraft. I’m sure I’ll have more questions in a bit. But these are the things of most concern for now
