About Me

I'm an ATP typed in Challenger 601,  Embraer 145 series and Gulfstream G4. Presently I fly the CL601 for a private owner out of KHPN but we also do 135 charter on one of the certificates held by the country's largest (in annual hours flown) 135 operator. Between trips I'm also a CFII specializing in Instrument and Commercial training in Mooney's and other high performance owner flown airplanes. I've owned N7458V for 21 years and have flown it to 27 states east and 4 west of the Mississippi River, as well as The Bahamas and Canada.  We've flown it to Oshkosh 18 of the last 20 years, camping in the North 40.

I like to fly. I am debating the fate of my aircraft ownership, do I sell or invest more. I worry about the state of General Aviation and am grateful to have been involved in it since the early 80's . I feel its days are numbered, as I've have watched the expenses triple over the past several years and am not optimistic for a revival.  I changed careers at 50 because I could see it becoming unaffordable and like any addict I used any means necessary to satisfy my urges for a fix, working for free at first by opening a flight school, (everyone got paid but me) then spent four years at a regional airline where my first year gross was $19,500 and my fourth year was $39,700. The money got better when I abandoned part 121 for 135 where I've spent the past five years.

it's all good.
