  1. Thank you! Will call on Monday.
  2. I have a 1970 M20F and the mounting plate that holds the upper cabin door striker bolt is broken. It's part #53 in the attached parts diagram and the part number is 340124-919. I cannot find this part anywhere. If anyone has any recommendations, please share. Thanks! Chris
  3. Thanks to all for your feedback on this topic. It's greatly appreciated!
  4. I have a 70 M20F and am looking at oxygen systems for flying in the low teens. I've researched SkyOx, Aerox and Mountain High. The price difference between SkyO (acquired by Aerox BTW) and Mountain High isn't insignificant. I'm looking at a 2 person system with a 15 or 22 cubic feet tank. I'd appreciate any recommendations or feedback on your experience with either, specifically is there value in paying more for Mountain High? Thanks, Chris
  5. Quick Update - I connected with Parker at airspeedinsurance.com. He delivered! My premium decreased by ~13% while I increased my hull coverage by ~25%. The process was super easy and fast. If you don’t like your current broker, give Parker a call!
  6. Does anyone have a recommended insurance broker? I just received my renewal and am surprised my premium increased by 20%. This is my first renewal, bought the plane last year, and I have over 130 hours in make and model now. I was hoping for an improvement in my premium, not a huge increase. Thanks, Chris
  7. Thanks Hank. I wondered where the 10" increase is located for the 20F and didn't want to assume it was all from the rear seat forward.
  8. I am doing a partial interior refurbishment. I'm revitalizing most of the plastic trim pieces but a few would be easier to buy from Vantage Plane Plastics. My plane is a 1970 M20F. A couple of the hat rack and baggage area pieces are not available for the 20F but I've found them for a 65 M20E. The pieces look similar but I am curious if anyone else has used prior model parts and had success with that. Thanks, Chris
  9. I can't find a service ceiling in my POH. I use Risingup.com for specs on planes, and they actually list the 20F service ceiling as 17,900. FWIW.... https://www.risingup.com/planespecs/info/airplane481.shtml
  10. I purchased a 1970 M20F last year and have really enjoyed flying it. I’m wondering if anyone has cruise performance for the mid teens? In my POH, I have climb performance to 16,000 but the cruise performance figures only go to 12,500. I’ve run into an issue with flight planning in foreflight as it maxes out the altitude to 12,500 based on the POH. My understanding is that the 20F has a service ceiling of 16,900, so not sure why the POH stops at 12,500. Any info would be great. Thanks, Chris
  11. Don, I did a poor job of making my point. My understanding is the GFC500 will couple the approaches with the GXN 375 and fly the glideslope. It will not automatically fly the step downs before the FAF. Question, can you rebug your ALT to the next step down and then click VNAV along with setting VS to have the AP fly the step downs? I got my IFR cert in a SR-20 with the Garmin Perspective, and that's how I used the AP to fly the approaches. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks, Chris
  12. My understanding is that the GNX 375 doesn't provide VNAV enroute but it does support VNAV in approach mode on the GFC 500.
  13. I think it depends if you need a nav/com with the GPS. If you don't, there's a much cheaper alternative with the GPS 175, which retails for $5,000 in the US. A GTN 650xi is $12,500 and the GTN 625xi is $10,500. Quite a difference. I put the GNX 375 in mine because I needed the ADS-B upgrade. I'm very pleased with it.
  14. I hope KPaul is correct. I purchased a 70 M20F back in early July and it's in the shop now getting 2 G5s, GNX375, GMA 345, and a GTR200B. I was hoping the GFC500 would be ready by now and I plan to install it as soon as it is. I'm going with pitch trim but not the yaw damper. Any thoughts on the benefit of the yaw damper? I attached the before picture below...will add a photo of the new panel when complete.
