  1. It appears, that I am a few years late to this discussion, but thought I should reply anyway. It is NOT the laminar flow wing that prohibits the spins. Many planes have laminar flow wings. (Comanche being one great example) The problem, lies with the "slickness" of the airfame. During the recovery, it is not difficult at all, to exceed the Mooney's VNE speed, and fold the wings up over your ears! I am surprised that none of you mentioned that.
