Not much seems to be on this subject since it is fairly new. I currently have experience with the gfc 500 autopilot and it has been superb. Looking to upgrade a recent 231 I purchased with the skyview suite from dynon. My only concern is how their autopilot compares to the gfc 500. With the recent approval for the mooneys I know their isn’t much experience out there for us but was wondering if anyone has flown or done a comparison between the two? This may be a thread somewhere but what kind of fuel burn numbers should one expect from a bravo at lower power settings? Let’s say a speed of 140-150ktas, 8-10k ft(something along the lines of where my f reaches). Considering options from my f model again but fuel burn, weight and range is always a factor and seems a little difficult to match the F in those terms. An eagle or encore I know is the answer but a little pricey now.

Mooney m20m bravo real world weight and balance?
Ripley98 posted a topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
Considering the idea of moving to a bravo from our m20f executive. The cruise speed is very appealing but the payload has me concerned. The F model we currently have, I can fill up completely and still carry 650lbs. I would like to be able to do that with a bravo but it seems like a unrealistic goal. From the numbers, it seems like a 2 person airplane with full fuel. Is there any real world figures from anyone on the forum? Anyone have a suggestion on a upgrade from the f model? Needing a true 4 person airplane with considerable usable fuel. Really want to like the newer long body versions but the weight is a huge factor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Hello, I have a 76 f model and am needing a seal for my fuel selector valve. I contacted Don Maxwell and he said he has not heard of this particular fuel valve on this model before. Seems a bit strange to me, but wanted to check with everyone here. I got the part number but it came back as a different unit. Never have seen one with two bolts in the parts catalog. Just needing the seal for the bowl and screen. Pic is below to help aid in my horrific description [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for all the input. What does the burn test consist of and who can do it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ok, I am having trouble finding legal binding regulations on aircraft interior. I know a very reputable car interior fabricator, and am wondering if he can recover the seats in my m20f? I am trying to do as much research as possible to make sure this is legal to do. I keep finding AC 20-178, which talks about the burn test, but this is only guidance and not a regulation on compliance. So the quick question I have is can he recover my interior? It appeared from the air bleed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It appears that the metal sleeve was damaged and the fitting that fastens the fuel line to the injector was not able to seal completely. It was very odd because it seemed tight and was torqued to spec before. I had the surprise of a bunch of blue die when the panels were pulled. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Did you have to tweak them at all after the initial install? I know they ask for results after the installation. Unfortunately I did not get to do the lean test prior to ordering due to fuel leaking out of one injector [emoji51]. The main reason I’m going with them is because one of my old injectors is bad and has the plane grounded at the moment. I thought with all the positive reviews on the gami’s I would just replace the old ones with them. Not sure if it is necessary, but thought I would see what others thought of the conversion overall. Just ordered some gami injectors for my io-360. What are some real world results to expect compared to the stock injectors. I had a fuel leak on one of the stock injectors so I wanted to replace them anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Up limit switch was the problem, glad to have it fixed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Will look into YouTube more, it is quite the undertaking coming from no background in drafting. I can do some basic sketches but not what I would like to be able to do. Thanks for all the input! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Does anybody know if a J model gear switch with the bypass button will work? If so, who might have one for sale? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

1976 m20f executive gear retract problem

Ok wanted to give an update. The plane has been kept in a heated hangar the whole time. Gear pucks are new, (from 2016). Squat switch is adjusted properly and everything is freshly greased. The problem only occurs once in awhile but there is still a ten second delay sometimes before the gear comes up. Anybody have any other suggestions at all? My A&P has been working on Mooneys for many years and has never came across this problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Not sure if it is bad at the moment, just wanting to make sure I can still get the part. I called Lasar today and still waiting to hear back on which airspeed conversion to go with. Seems like an expensive option to go with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

1976 m20f executive gear retract problem
Ripley98 replied to Ripley98's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
It occurred first, approximately on a 20mile flight from my base airport after departing my second point. It was about a 2 sec delay. Then it happened again at my third point airport departure on takeoff, the leg was about 30 miles from the second to the third point. Temp was minus 3 Celsius,(this was the worst occurrence with the problem, about a 15-30sec delay before it came up). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
1976 m20f executive gear retract problem
Ripley98 replied to Ripley98's topic in Vintage Mooneys (pre-J models)
Yes, it does have a squat switch. I was flying in cold weather yesterday when it happened (Southeast Missouri). It did occur later in the flight. No issues when leaving the airport from my heated hangar. I will check the date on the donuts. Would the maintenance manual show where the location of all of the switches you are talking about? Also it does not have a bypass switch installed, I like the sound of it along with the airspeed switch. I also talked to Don Maxwell today and from what he was describing it sounds like the rubber doughnut issue you stated. Guess I should check those first before getting into the belly. Any ideas on the best place to get a maintenance manual? -
I know this might be a topic somewhere on the forum but I’d figure I would start another. Today while flying my 76 m20f executive, I had an issue later in the flight where the gear would not retract up. It was almost as if it was not electrically connected at all. Then all of a sudden after several attempts, it retracted out of nowhere while the switch was up (about a 20 sec delay). The airspeed alarm was not functioning either when I pulled the throttle back while the switch was up (so most likely not the culprit there).Has anyone had this issue? Also a I’m a new owner so not completely familiar with the location of all switches and mechanisms that make this happen but definitely wanting to learn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
