Looking for recommendations on a tent that i can transport in my J for the Airventure Oshkosh and camp with my plane. I am alone so the tent and luggage would be just for me.

Is a PAR 46 the correct size for a J model? Where can I confirm size?

Thanks for the replies. I picked up a couple of knobs at Lowes today but it will be tomorrow before I can see if they fit. They both have set screws. BTW, I recently bought the plane and just picked it up yesterday and flew it home last evening/night. I didn't see the knob on the floor when I was looking over the plane.

Actually having a CFI near Chetek, WI would also be fine.

I don't think I have a quote from Airspeed Insurance Agency.

Central Illinois but I would travel pretty much anywhere in the midwest to get that flight training. There is a ferry pilot that I can use to get my airplane there. I also have a camper that I can use to stay in while training.

Just bought a M20J / 201 and have asked several insurance companies for quotes. They come with riders that will make it difficult to get the necessary flight training. Catch 22: complex / retract signoff in make and model without insurance - get insurance without complex / retract signoff in make and model. There should be some short term workaround. Not every CFI will have that make / model.
