Mike, thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I will have to see if the shop has gotten the spring in already; they were going to order it but it has a VERY long lead time.
I am assuming the "custom painting of your aircraft" is NOT painting the aircraft but a beautiful picture OF the aircraft. Am I interpreting that right? The opening bid is just too darn low for the latter.

Yes, the painting is of a picture of your plane. He has done a number of others before and his work is fantastic.
I also failed to mention we didnt get bids on a daytona aircraft MSC annual,
Keep me posted if you need this spring. It would be coming from Lasar. Ill also have dan bass follow up on the tug as he is our point of contact with that sponsor.

I have let the airport know I have found a source for the spring and I left a message for the A&P to get back to me.

The airport got back to me. They have already obtained said spring (so I really can't use the Lasar one that probably will end up being less expensive, as they have already laid out the funds to get this part.) Thanks for your knowledge and assistance.

I have a 1984 J model and our mechanic is insisting my no back spring should be changed due to a service bulletin. My reading finds that the bad batch of these came out about 6 years after my plane was assembled. So I should have a good spring. If the spring DOES fail, will the emergency lawn mower pull gear extend still work?

So how do I pursue that? Just ask my local mechanic?

I have seen a previous discussion on this forum about the STC to increase Gross Weight in J Model Moonies. My aircraft is NOT in the favorable serial number group, so I don't know if an STC is available to me; anyone out there have a path to the higher MGW for a J Model Mooney with low serial number?
