  1. Hi, I'm looking at an Ovation that has been sitting for a few years with minimal flying in a hangar. A recent inspection has found some rust on the cylinder barrels but no problems with the cam or lifters. The owner has been using CamGaurd for a few years now and is very devoted to his airplane, but just hasn't flown it much. Is a bit of rust in the cylinder barrels a deal breaker? Or will it just go away with some renewed use?
  2. How are the IO360s in the J models by comparison?
  3. Sorry for the typo. I meant IIO550. @buddy, what led you to do the top overhaul? Was it something that showed up in a boroscope?
  4. Hi, I'm looking at a nice Ovation but one thing that concerns me is that all 6 cylinders have been replaced between 900 and 1500 hours. I've seen the Mike Busch seminar warning about the perils of cylinder work and find it a bit troubling that all 6 jugs went bad. Is this something that is common with the IO540? Is it a sign of careless engine operation? Would the prudent course of action be to put the old beast of it's misery and go straight to a full engine overhaul? Thanks, John
  5. Has anyone bought an aging steam gauge equipped Mooney and ripped the entire panel out and replaced it with a g500 txi? Is it a $100,000 proposition?
  6. What kind of ceiling can I expect in an M20C with full fuel, one pilot and minimal baggage? I've seen 15,000 on the web, but tend to doubt that. What about on a hot day?
