Perilous

Doesn't look like I can make it out of my Sierra foothills home here at E45. Ceiling is 4000 with a steady cloud forecast throughout the rest of the day. I'm VFR and need to climb above the cloud base in order to cross the 4500' peaks. Then, I'll have to find a clearing for descent into Watsonville... "Been there, done that" and it's not worth taking the chance. Count "Perilous" out, unless the WX changes.... But I'll certainly be looking forward to the next meeting. A big thanks to all my good fellow Mooney comrades.

Too bad we can't coordinate this on-line today so that we split up the traffic coming into Watsonville tomorrow. We could divide the group into 4 time frames so that we all don't come in at the same time. Anyone interested in trying this today, say before a 5pm deadline? I'm totally flexible about when to arrive between 8am and 12 noon. Shouldn't be too hard to coordinate 30 planes into 4 hour slots...just to get an approximate idea. Newbee to the post, but just givin' it a try for safety.... Perilous

Hi guys and gals, Count me in. Since I'm late at responding, I won't count on reserving a spot to eat with the group. I just found out about the forum today and I'm just looking forward to meeting and sharing with fellow Mooney pilots. The forum has me going by the name of "Perilous". Hello out there! I'm new to the post as of today, and already I'd like to attend a posted fly-out this Sunday here in California to meet other die-hart Mooney owners. I bought a nice 1977 J20 in August and I've enjoyed it immensely. The one problem I'm having now is a severe wobble in the peddles and yoke when I apply the brakes hard at the end of a landing run out. I've been told it could be a warped disc, a flat spotted tire or even a loose fitting in the nose wheel. I do have a slight flat spot on the right main, but it's been that way since my first flight when I accidentally grabbed too much brake on a landing, and it hasn't gotten worse. When I spin the mains when it's jacked-up, I don't notice any dragging in the discs. So far, I'm living with the problem as it wobbles only when I apply the brakes hard while pulling back the yoke. Has anybody out there experienced this problem before? I'd appreciate any feedback. Thank You, and glad to be here to network with other Mooney owner. I go by the name of "Perilous"....

Hi there! I'm new to the Mooney forum as of today, having bought a nice used Mooney J20 in August. I live at E45, Pine Mountain Lake E45, and I'd love to attend the meeting if it hasn't been held already. Sunday is the 10th and the weather should be dry here. Has it been decided on where and what time yet?
