  1. Hey guys, I figured I would start here. I have an overhauled engine to swap by an AI, the plane is grounded at KPAO. SO if someone has a hanger I can rent from them for a few days, or knows of one, let me know. Regards.
  2. I appreciate the input. I looked into that engine listed by MPG, which I was pretty excited about. The engine ended having a bit of a colorful history. It came from an aircraft in a foreign country, complete with foreign engine log. Jewell took a look at the case in a picture and said the case was not repairable. They must have gotten wind that they have a good name, the quote I got was right in the same 26-27k ball park as Tims in Long beach. I have a feeler out with Wentworth. My understanding is that an A1A must be replaced with an A1A. I do not know how much variance is allowed between subfamilies of the engine.
  3. I will look into that option as well. Suggestions for places to find one? TAP/Controller/web searches don't seem to have a lot of inventory to pick from.
  4. It has been a while since I have looked at the market, How significant is the difference in resale is there between a plane with an engine that has been overhauled from zephyr/custom automotive etc vs a factory unit? Say with 150 hrs SMO?
  5. I was planning on selling and upgrading sometime next year.
  6. Long time Lurker, I have an F with that has developed the infamous crank case crack and is leaking oil. its at 1500 Hrs SMO. My options seem to be: 1.) Have the engine torn down and have the case welded. 2.) Option 1 and consider an overhaul being that the engine is torn down already. 3.) Consider an exchange overhauled unit from Air power or Pen Yan aero. 4.) Other? Thanks for your input.
