I would agree with previous posts re the plugs. There is a bad batch of new spark plugs doing the rounds. Our M20J came back from an annual with a sporadic miss on the engine. Turns out that the resistance of four of the brand new replaced plugs were out of spec. They were replaced with another batch with the correct resistance, and the engine is running very smoothly now.

Hi Danie. We have a M20j and have been having problems with mags recently. Turns out the problem was with one of the condensers. A couple of years ago the one failed, and now more recently the other one. If it is a condenser problem, it is better to replace them both at the same time. I would advise you to have your 252 checked out by Stewart King at Parys airfield. His is not the best AMO in general, but very good at optimising engine performance. Good luck!
