I have never seen a mouse proof hangar. My first Mooney, an M20C had unwelcome visitors that chewed through the boots on one of the main gear push/pull rods and then proceeded to make a nest inside the wing root. To say the least it was very difficult and expensive to remove the nest and the mouse urine residue was very acidic causing corrosion on the aluminum surfaces. After that experience I had a sheet metal shop fabricate some inexpensive mouse guards that are always in place when my current M20J is in my hangar. The guards can be formed from very light 24 or lighter gauge galvanized sheet metal, The dimensions for my guards are: 12" high, 12" wide at the rear, 26" long on each side and the front openings are 8" on each side with a 1/2" interlock tab to hook them together in the closed position. I don't have my dimensions for the nose gear which can be a little smaller since it doesn't have to clear the gear doors. My Mooney is always parked at the same spot in the hangar so I simply open the guards when I am ready to depart and when I return i simply push the airplane back to it;s parking position and close the guards.
