  1. For pilots navigating the skies, situational awareness is paramount, especially during critical phases like takeoff and landing. Holy Micro! LLC’s SkyVoice Alert 500 (Model: LHA-500-A) is a game-changing, NORSEE-certified device designed to enhance safety by providing real-time audio height announcements and critical reminders. Whether you’re flying a pressurized, certified, or experimental aircraft, this compact system integrates seamlessly to support better decision-making. Here’s why the SkyVoice Alert 500 is a must-have for general aviation pilots. What is the SkyVoice Alert 500? The SkyVoice Alert 500 is an FAA Approved system that uses advanced LiDAR technology to measure height above ground level (AGL) with ±1% accuracy, up to 590 feet. It delivers audio announcements through your headset—via wired connection or Bluetooth—alerting you to predefined heights, landing gear warning, and other reminders. Certified under FAA’s NORSEE. It can be used in all aircraft (pressurized, certified and experimental). Key Features and Benefits LiDAR-Powered Precision Utilizing a built-in LiDAR (Laser) with eye-safe Class 1 Laser module for measurements, an accuracy of ±1% (distance to ground/objects) is achieved. Announces heights like 500, 400, 300, 200, 100, 70, 50, 20, 10, 5, 2, and 1 foot during takeoff, landing, or go-around, helping pilot’s master depth perception. A hard surface such as Tarmac, Asphalt, and Concrete runways, along with turf/grass or dirt strip are suitable for range reading. (not approved for use over water or if the runway has a water level of 3 inch or more.). Customizable Audio Alerts Choose between male (“Frank”) or female (“Lisa”) voices for clear, professional announcements. Reminders that can be set are “Clearance, Check Gear, Checklist, Speed, Flaps, Pump, LC GUMPS and Prop”. Only one Reminder per Height is allowed and no reminder below 100. Adjustable volume and power-on announcements (e.g., “SkyVoice Alert 500 Ready” at 0, 30, 60, or 90 seconds) ensure compatibility with your audio panel or Bluetooth headset. Advanced Safety Features Landing Gear Warning: Detects gear position (up/down) using an isolated optical sensor, announcing “Check Gear” every 2 seconds (adjustable) if gear is up below 560 feet AGL. GPS Integration: Connects to GPS via RS-232 to announce altitudes from 18,000 to 500 feet MSL Run Time Reminders: Alerts for “Check Tank” (The user can set a value from any of the listed time interval viz. 30 min, 45 min, 60 min and 90 min) and “Check Fuel” (The user can set a value from any of the listed time interval viz. 1 hr, 1.5 hr, 2 hr, 2.5 hr, 3 hr, 3.5 hr and 4 hr) to maintain fuel awareness. Go-Around Detection: Recognizes Go-Arounds based on height thresholds (default: 400 feet start, 100 feet climb) to resume relevant callouts. Once Go-Around is detected, SkyVoice Alert 500 will announce the already announced higher altitudes only after the device goes out of range and time entered is elapsed. Easy Installation and Setup Weight: Just 215 grams (7.58 oz) Dimensions: 75 x 48 x 61 mm (2.95” x 1.89” x 2.40”) Voltage Supply: 12V-28V (30V MAX) Power Consumption: 1W nominal, 150mA @12V The unit is designed to Mounts on an inspection plate with an unobstructed view of the ground, avoiding engine exhaust or moving parts. The LiDAR beam spreads to 9 feet at 500 feet AGL, ensuring focused readings. Standard and Advanced Modes Standard Mode: Focuses on LiDAR-based height announcements and basic reminders for simplicity. Advanced Mode: Unlocks GPS integration, Gear warnings, Bluetooth, and Runtime Reminders for enhanced functionality. Maintenance-Free and Built to Last The SkyVoice Alert 500 requires no field maintenance. Built to withstand harsh conditions, it operates from -25°C to +60°C (-13°F to +140°F) and stores safely at temperatures ranging from -40°F to +185°F. The only recommended care is to clean the window with a dry, clean cloth, applying no pressure. A slightly wet cloth (water only) can also be used if needed. Whether you’re flying a Cessna, Piper, or experimental aircraft, the SkyVoice Alert 500 is a powerful safety enhancement device designed with pilots in mind. From LiDAR precision to intuitive voice reminders, this system brings a new level of awareness to every cockpit. To learn more or to purchase, visit www.holymicro.com.
