Is there any trick to this? There is clearly no room to pull the gov to the firewall and get it completely clear of the mounting posts. We ended up removing the accessory mount as well. PITA!!!! Is there some trick MSC's and good A&P's do to get it out? We thought of loosening the top lord mounts and allowing the top half of the engine to move forward about a quarter inch, but baffling etc was in the way. I understand pre J models have a circular firewall cover that gets unbolted for governor removal. To make matters worse, we have had to do it twice. We have reason to believe the prop overhauler did a strip and dip, because the governor leaked in the exact same place AFTER OH!!! PIREP on these geniuses to follow.
Please tell me there is an easier way to R&R the prop governor in early 201's without cracking your knuckles and stripping hex bolts.
