  1. I found and E model for sale that has a small oil leak coming from the left side cowling just above the cowl flap after 2 hrs of flying, he has cleaned and checked it 3 times, replaced the oil cooler hose which he thought was the problem, I asked him about the case, accessory case and every place I could possibly think of a leak could come from. He is still baffeled that he can't find it in all his years of being a A&P mechanic. I need someone else in Tulsa to take a look......if anyone knows of a place please let me know, thanks Rick
  2. Heres my opinion, the CRJ was used for test of accuracy at altitude using the iPad for a very reasonably priced back-up reference system. My iPad nor my old iPhone would I trust its own nav system on, for the $75 I would by the Dual system, 10 meter accuracy as shown in there app along with all satelites GS, ALT Etc. No wires with bluetooth, about 6 hrs batt life, charges by USB. So try your software without the Dual ext. GPS and if it works great if not buy the Dual. I think aviatoreb is accurate with 10K without it. I haven"t been able to try it in a GA plane yet.....still looking for a clean old Mooney C, E, F....haven't had a plane for long time. Rick
  3. I use WingXPro7 on an iPad 2. WingX uses Seattle Avionics Charts. Using a Dual bluetooth GPS ($75.00) new on e-bay. I was very impressed. I tried out this App and GPS last week flying a CRJ at FL320 to FL390 and this set-up was dead on for ground speed and course, we were cruising a 501 kts. GS and the iPad was reading exactly 501 kts. Course was exact as well. Altitude was off 300 to 400 ft, the Dual was aquiring 6-7 satellites out off 11. I was using WingXpro7 in split screen mode....VFR sectional on left side and Jet High Enroute on the right....very, very nice. Just talked to Hilton and found out the altitude was off because I didn't calibrate it in the settings mode!! I also use JeppFD which our company pays for but WingXPro7 is far better, expecially for GA pilots.

  5. 4more hrs looking at partial logs....Logs are a Nightmare...multiple engines, major damage history...not gear up but possible off airport landing. MLG replaced...2 paint jobs in 3 yrs...130 hrs. SMOH...14 yrs ago. This is my 2nd post after1hr of typing. I must have timed out...this plane is probably fine but a probably a nightmare to sell with sketchy logs. I'm passing. Hey Mike, I can jump seat free but getting her home would be fuel costly but worth it for the right plane....Did you ever find an F Model?
  6. I have been looking for an E model for a couple of months now. I talked to the owner of 5962Q which is listed in Trade-a-Plane, Controller and Aircraft Shopper for $48k. This plane must have been listed at different times as the annual inspections have different due dates?? The owner has done some of the newer parts replacements and had IA sign offs. I have done my research on what questions to ask after talking to Lasar quite a few times. After 45 minutes of questions and looking at pictures this plane seems like it should have sold by now. Any comments appreciated, quite a few pics on Trade-a-Plane, thanks Rick
