  1. Ok I need to be more specific. These Hartzell models are correct per TCDS: Hartzell HC-C2YK-1 or HC-C2YR-1 hub, 7666-2 blades Hartzell HC-C2YK-1B hub, 7666A-2 blades Thank you OR75 and Cody Stallings. Gus
  2. Eldon What's the model number of your porp ? If it fits Id be interested. Gus
  3. Hello: I'm looking for a 2 blade prop for an F model. A good condition prop that I can overhaul or a overhauled one will do. Must have prop log and spinner. Thank you Gus
  4. Well I must say that the tips you all gave me saved quite a bit of money. The vent works perfectly. All it took was some lubricant. I thank you all. The vent opens about one and three quarter inches. Thank you, Gus
  5. OK I unsrewed the plate near the handle and sprayed lubricant on the all parts inside. I will do this several times and try to move the handle. I hope it works and wish to thank you for the tips and info. Gus
  6. Thank you for the responses I will try to spary lubricant. The opening does not go up much but I will try. I may have to leave it if I must drill rivets. Gus
  7. It's stuck closed. I live in Florida so I would like the air it provides. Thanks Gus
  8. Hello: The air vent on my 76 M20F is stuck. Has anyone had this problem? Are there any suggestions to try before I hire someone to tear it apart. The handle releasing the opening on top of the plane will not turn. Gus
  9. Hello: I transitioned from a 172 to a M20F seven months ago. I am very happy with the performance. I looked at many planes and always came back to the Mooney. I needed a travel plane with good economy and speed. The J model was recomended by everyone I talked to. I found that the F model was a much better choice. I cruise at 8000 at 150-156 knots. I think that is great. I recomend a very detailed pre-buy inspection and expect the various pumps and systems to need repair. Mine is a 76 and it seemed like everything needed some kind of service. Also try and buy one that already has most of the mods you want. Mine had several small mods and is still quite fast. I will upgrade the interior put a GPS in it and one of those Arctic Air Real air conditioners(I live in Florida). Once you get things sorted out you will love flying the Mooney.
  10. Hello: My fuel booster in my 76' F model is not working. Any thoughts on trouble shooting or replacement options. The pump is getting power. Whats the most economical way to replace the pump if I have to? Thank you, Gus.
  11. Thanks for the great help; I have contacted the mechanic and advised him of the suggestions. I also contacted LASAR and their advise was to keep bleeding until its right. I will have the nose tilted up and bleed again. About the washers the masters are new. I will tell him to look at them. I went up 2 days ago and I am certainly not happy with the brakes, especialy after the investment I made in them.By the way this plane is wicked fast.
  12. They were bled from the caliper nipple up. The hoses were checked. The masters are horizontal and that is one of the problems according the mechanic. Does anyone know of a procedure to follow concernng this model? Thanks for your suggestions.
  13. Hello: I could use some help/member experience. I have a 76 F model. The mechanic advised the brakes were soft and needed to be bled. After bleeding they were still soft. He then rebuilt the masters and the calipers and the park brake seals and new pads. The brakes would not hold for run-up. He suggested change the masters to new models. We did, the brakes are better but not great. He seemed to take a long time bleeding because of the orientation of the masters. Lots of places for air to hide. The right brake is still a little soft but does work. Should I expect the brakes to be super firm or not? Should the park break hold for run-up? Is this common for Mooney’s to be difficult to bleed and have soft brakes? Is there something else I can try?
