  1. I am currently wrestling with this decision. Buying a M20J on my own or a three person partnership in a G2 SR22; I know they are not the same aircraft. I can afford the solo ownership of the J I have already picked out but reasonable estimate of 80 - 100 hours a year makes the hourly cost higher then a third of a plane that flies 225 hours per year. Most of my flying is mid week for work but my daughter and I enjoy the weekend $100 dollar breakfest also. I am leaning towards sole ownership in a J as that is the aircraft I have always wanted. The more I learn about the SR22 and haven flown one the more I don't like the plane. Of course if I pull the trigger on the Mooney I will anounce it hear with pictures. Erik
  2. Brother graduated from Clarkson and lives in LKP, fly a Dakota up there often. The J with TKS in PA goes up to SLK and LKP often. Will look you up when I head that way. Talk Soon Erik
  3. Currently looking for a J or K with TKS, if you know of one PM me (already looked at one PAMooney has advertised) Thanks Erik
  4. Parker, Yes he has the Aspen installed, my first chance to fly with that also. I have some G1000 time, the Apsen was a nice alternative as an upgrade. I had been planning on a G500 as upgrade to the plane I by, I compare the Aspen options more now when the time comes. Dan, did quite a few nice upgrades after he purchased the 201NX. Erik
  5. Got to get behind the controls of a M20J 201 yesterday thanks to Dan Adams (ProprAire). The 201 has been the plane of my desired on paper, it was great to finaly get a flight. Dan has a nice plane. Erik
  6. rturbett, Are you reffering to the mooney at D38? That has been sitting a long time and supposely tied up in an estate. I am not a mechanic or A/P, but I believe that would be a hugh product. Story is the owners son flew it about four years ago and it has sat since. I have an empty hangar at D38 if you decide to do this project. PM me if you want to discuss more. Erik
  7. Hello All I am having a hard time meeting up with the potential partner in the '83 201 I asked about so I am staring to look at potential solo purchase. I have looked at this one a couple of times on the web, price seems decent why is it not selling? Been on the market 97 days http://www.myplane.com/ad/3294# self Erik
  8. Thanks for the input guys; hoping to fly the plane this coming week. Happy Easter to those that celebrate the holiday. Erik
  9. Hello all! Been lurking around for a couple of weeks, have question now. Looking at a partnership in a '83 201, at the point of putting a value on it. TTAF <2400 hrs, SFRM <200 hrs, prop overhaul <200 hrs. 530w installed last year, original A/P and HSI Original paint and interior, paint looks good interior is rough. Using a July, 2009 issue of MAPA Log came up with $105,900 before deducting for paint and interior (up to $9,000). Two years ago after the engine and prop were done he was offered $115,000. (was not interested in selling his plane, would like a partner now) He understands the market has gone down since then and told me to make an offer for half the plane. Thank You in advance for any feedback Erik
