Redid panel in my PA30 ( I used to have a 201). These are for sale, seperately or all together. NSD 360 HSI System, KR87 ADF System, WX900 Stormscope, KR22 Marker Beacon, SPA 400 Intercom, KA134 audio panel, AT50A Xponder. 2K for everything. Or make offer on what you want. The NSD 360 HSI was working great. The KR87 has a display problem. The Stormscope is for parts only. The intercom, audio panel and transponder all work just fine. Replaced with Aspen 2000 and Garmin stack. PM me if you are interested. Rick

Airplane sold Friday. Flew it out to the east coast with it's new owner onboard. What a fine airplane! He plans to upgrade it further. In case you were wondering, it sold for 118K. Did I lose money? sure....but, that's a lot more than the brokers that were calling me offering 95K.

New price -- 119K. See videos, logbooks, etc on TradeAPlane.com N201DF. That price is much more firm then what I had it originally listed for. Had a guy look at it Sunday. Here's a quote "That is the cleanest airplane I've ever seen.....It looks brand new". Yes it does. Rick

No plans to replace the airplane. Will be relocating soon from Texas to either OK or CA. Plan on reinvesting the money from the airplane into land/house. We flew up-n-back to Tulsa, OK yesterday. The airplane is such a great traveling machine. Will be missed....a lot. Thanks for asking Rick

It is a dual Aspen. The pics are a bit out sync. Here's the Trade-A-Plane ad - http://www.trade-a-plane.com/detail/1745302.html The price is north of 120K. I put 127K knowing it's a place to start. I'm not going to give it away. I remember when I was looking for a J. I looked at more junk that was priced between 75 & 90k. It's a very nice J. Thanks for the feedback! Rick

It's not cheap, it's not a fixer-upper. But it is one very nice airplane. See it here or on Trade-a-plane or Barnstormers. Videos are on YouTube. Videos and Logbooks are located at the Trade-a-plane website. Price is negotiable but please don't contact me with an unrealistic offer. This airplane went through an extensive (read $$$$) annual in 2008 at Willmar. The glass is new, the engine and prop are low time. Poplar did the rebuild during the Willmar annual. Tanks and glass were done in 2008. SB208A/B, CorrosionX, all done at Willmar. Maxwell aircraft did the prop. Don Maxwell had his hands on the airplane (again...$$$) in 2007. I have very good documentation on what has been done on this airplane. When I found it...it had weak radios and the original interior. Both of those items were addressed at considerable expense. The airplane also went to Midwest Mooney where a complete refurb of the gear and gearwells was done. The SMOH/SPOH are right at 500hrs. The TTSN is 3690. No damage is found in the logbooks and both Maxwell and Willmar back that up when I talked to them prior to buying the aircraft.
The aircraft is an outstanding traveling machine. Very capable. Very reliable. All ADs complied with including the 500hr dual mag.

This forum is great for stuff like this! After researching comments here and on other websites, I replaced the G35 Gill with the Concorde RG35-AXC. Could not be happier. Was a cold day here in Houston....ok, not as cold as you guys up north...but, 40...ish. The 440 CCA of the battery was very welcome over the 250 cold cranking amps of the Gill. Let's see how it holds up. For the record, the G35 Gill was done in 2years 4 mos.

Thanks to all of you. One question to those that mentioned "Weber", who is that?
Over the phone, Vannette could not have been nicer. My other concern is that the airplane comes back to me with no rash: scratches in the paint, oil on the carpet, etc. I've spent a lot of money on the interior (thanks AeroComfort...Hector does outstanding work) and the paint, glass are all in very good shape. Last year, I found several "extras" done to the airplane that cost me $$ to fix.
At any rate....thanks again!

Was considering using Dugosh this year. There are some older posts about them but thought I'd just see if they are still a good shop, worthy of the price. She told me to expect 4K - 4.5K if nothing major is found. Thanks
-
Will be putting mine up for sale soon. See my gallery. Also have youtube videos can point you at. Rick

Just a note to thank all of you who either contacted me privately or on this public thread. i really appreciate it. Rick

I'll let TXBYKER post his guy as well if he wants. Did call that referral and talked for 30mins with that guy and came away very impressed.
Thanks to both of you guys for your input. I really appreciate it.

Yes and thanks to the other folks that sent me contacts as well. Rick

Has anybody got someone they would recommend in the greater Houston area? This shop or individual must also be good at taking care of the condition of the airplane while it is in his care. Thanks! Rick

One last thing, if you use a shop in Oklahoma....no sales tax. And, had I to do it over again...I would have done the MFD at the same time I did the PFD. I didn't...not so much due to the price....but that at the time, I did not see the value of the MFD. I absolutly do now. So, if you can swing it (and the rebates might be better for a 2000 system), get them both. You won't be sorry.
I guess that was two things. Oh well.

I should add, that I got a 1K rebate from Aspen so the price to me was really 9K. Rick
-
I had this done on 6/30/2010. the turn-key price for my EFD1000-Pro PFD was 10K. no trade in. The tech did it in less then a week. Rick

Regards the interior work, Hector did mine....go take a look at the magic he can work via my albums. I did the PFD, then the interior...then, decided I just had to have the MFD (which I'm glad I got) and used Crystal Avionics in New Braunfels. John and Hector have a great relationship.
I paid Hector $ to remove all the interior that John wanted out and the guys removed their shoes and cover everything that didn't come out. End result.....got the airplane back and no damage to the interior. Highly recommend both Crystal and Hector.
I also just have the wings leveler and don't want (or need) an autopilot. And I'm very comfortable flying IFR/IMC. Regards what can come out with the Aspen installation, any avionics shop has all the rules about what can/ cannot be removed. There is a backp-battery option you can purchase above and beyond what is in the Aspen that allows you (according to the shop that sold me mine) that allows for you to remove more stuff. But......ask a shop. Rick

Just a note. I went with Crystal Avionics and they did a great job. Paid Aero Comfort to R/R whatever John wanted out to get the job done. John moved the engine monitor up and over so that I could keep the KI209 for the KX155. Aspen has got a great product! Will add weather soon! Rick

AeroComfort did mine. See the pics I have posted. Hector and his shop did an outstanding job. Plus, as others have posted, you do not have to bring the a/c to KSAT. He works with other shop around the country and will send what you want to them for installation. He is not cheap. But you get exactly what you pay for. Rick
-
Thanks for the great feedback. Lean towards Crystal since Hector (Aero Comfort) will do the removal and reinstall of interior panels (for a fee...which is fine). Prices do vary. Johnny at Conroe is impressive. Thanks again. Rick
-
Has anybody had any experience with either of thiese
- Avionics Unlimited, inc - Conroe, TX
- Crystal Avionics, LLC - New Braunfels, TX
I'd appreciate it. Adding the Aspen MFD 1000 to the panel.

Might be too late to do you any good. I agree that GY FC III are a great choice. use the Michelin Air Stop tubes. Great combination. i would never buy Michelin tires again. Did that once and they did not wear good at all. Rick

There is a shop in Flora, IL. Midwest Mooney. They did the gear refurb on my J and did an outstanding job (see my pics :-) ) Rick
