Hey guys!
I am excited to join this forum. It seems like a great group compared to some other stuffy forums I belong to.
I am 29 years old, from NJ, and have loved aviation from a young age. I am fortunate to have met a great man in middle school who built a velocity and I was up a few times over the years with him.
My grandfather purchased property in PA and it has an airstrip on it (as well as a hangar). Boden airport 2pa4. No one has been in or out in 20years. He isn’t a pilot and never had intentions of becoming one. And he doesn’t let anyone land there.
I’ve always wanted my PPL but never willing to spend the money on it.
At 280lbs and 6ft. I am heavy and I have told myself when I hit 250 I plan to start lessons.
My dream plane is a vans rv10 but I think a Mooney checks all the boxes and is much more attainable.
My goal is to eventually buy a plane to get from my home to the property. There is an airport 20 minutes from me. Commuting by plane would really decrease the 3.5hr drive.
I also plan to get my ifr ratings and travel a bit. I’ve traveled all over off roading with UTVs. Offshore fishing (NJ) 100 miles on my 25ft boat. I would love to make it to the Bahamas and other destinations. Probably make the trip to see my brother in Houston as well.
