@TangoTango Thats a understatement. Persistent and patient. Some regrettable decisions along the way. Definitely not a lack of involvement.

I just go ahold of him. He did clear up that on the pallet that just shipped to me, I have two bottoms and a single back rest. In his comment they have to be somewhere. He didn't remove them his helper did and put them in bags when he opened a single back was missing. He's not sure if it was there to begin with. He's apparently where I bought the plane for a funeral he's going to meet with previous owner family and look through old hanger. As he said, it has to be somewhere we just have to find it... At least it's only a single backrest now. Plane was bought in Redlands CA, worked on in sandpoint Idaho.

I vastly underestimated the scarcity and value of the seats. Also this guy had ghosted me for months. I was just happy to get my plane back. Dan Bass is on here he can attest this shop is like nothing I've ever seen before. Mountains of stuff piled >10ft high. If it was 1500bucks for seats and hardware it wouldn't be worth the hassle but this is going to get silly.

All of the seals in my plane are probably trash so I'm worried about water getting in the windows and down into the tubes so that's primarily what I'm focused on protecting when I'm on a work trip away from the hanger

The A&P That was supposed to do my interior and had my plane for 15 months misplaced my back seats. I got a tray as part of my interior package from playing Plastics but the seats themselves are gone and after seeing his shop I don't think they're ever going to be found. If they are it will be too late and I would have already tried to find out another solution. What's my best option for finding replacement back seats for my 1985 J?

Always appreciate you looking out for me Lance.

Oh Snap you got a website now eh? I used mooney pros as sourced through the forums here. Got all the value I could ever hope for and more last month bringing the J home. -
This is precisely how i saw it it. Thanks!

Technically tailbeacon X is the full mode s transponder, the tailbeacon is the adsb only version.... Which the latter is what i'm looking for.
-
Yeah sorry should have been more clear on that

PIREP: flap and aileron rigging by Flight Enhancements LLC
SilentT replied to Flyler's topic in General Mooney Talk
It does go real fast... I mean I had only ever flown a 152... So yeah. But I was getting 155-160kn ias on what the questionable flowmeter said was 9.5gph. -
What's going on with these? High failure rates or what? I need a temp solution for adsb until panel in 24-36 months and this has me nervous about used tailbeacon.

I don't think mine has ever been touched but aelerons are about quarter inch up on both sides. Dan Bass pointed it out on our flights. But it seems to fly straight (not what I was focused on). So probably leave it unless it becomes an issue. Just interesting to hear it's supposed to be down a few degrees not up -
Fundamentally yes. Corp ownership, personal lease. Multiple llcs at play here so if used for one of the business can invoice the business as necessary. Keeps record keeping lighter (as personal is a majority), while netting important tax benefits. I need someone who understands to avoid the traps and the big bad gubbermint.

Thats what I was trying to allude to. The hsi was the head scratcher. Also I'm ignorant of the controls for free / slave toggle and cw / ccw controls pictured under the elt toggle. I've no idea what is is or how. But I do knoe it will drive it clockwise and counter. -

I'm 85 as well, prob finished in 84 24-1506 -
I made a plan with the tax consultant today. But the legal side of the dry lease back to protect against the flight dept trap and other common screwuos is important enough for me to consult with someone who knows how to structure the lease documentation correctly. Tax wise we got a plan. Just need to make it legal

Point one above taken Point two above, the king ap still turns the yoke pretty hard. I think it might work but I also believe it works off the attitude indicator which didn't work because dead pump? Also the hsi, kinda worked? I'm still not sure and the cfi was scratching a bit, because it's electric I think. More to determine there. It definitely didnt follow anything of consequence though. Point 3 above, the egt apparently works. Not sure if accurate? The cht well it's just an analog line and it barely tics off the min on climb and cruise.... Soooo maybe as they say "my plane ran fantastic until I got a engine monitor" -

I think long term I want to just go the dynon route and have a lifetime plane. One upgrade to rule them all, get it right once. Pay the tears once. But I want adsb now until that time comes like 24 months so I need a used tailbeacon. -

Aaaaaand after segregation and review by the apia, she sent this note with this estimate of what truly needs done We have an altimeter that passes tests for $550.00, we will need the encoder and I found one for $350. I took all the parts to cost to help you out. I found a tail beacon for $1430.00 on Ebay, I didn't add it yet. EST 25-7964 Revised 11-10-2025.pdf
