  1. Hey guys, my ‘68 C is currently getting reborn with a glass panel, LEMO plugs, new engine, and new prop, and it came across my mind, is there an STC for the 201 baggage door with the flush handle? And would it be worth a few knots? The plane already has the 201 windshield and cowling, also wondering if the 201 style rudders have any benefit other than aesthetic?
  2. We are doing an all Garmin overhaul to our ‘68 C and we want to get some money for the stuff he have now. Do you think our old KMA20 audio panel is worth anything and this point? The labels are grungy and comms don’t sound very good anymore. Sell or trash? Also, if anyone is interested in an S-TEC 30 Autopilot
  3. We are currently overhauling our panel in our ‘68 C to all Garmin glass. While we are at it, we are thinking of switching our key ignition to a L/R IGN switches and a push button for starter. Is it worth the trouble? Bonus - we are thinking of LED backlighting the label engravings on the new panel? Has anyone done this?
  4. Hello Mooneyspace, I am having to remove the interior of my ‘68 M20C and am having trouble remembering how to remove the two front pilot seats. Anyone know how? Thanks
  5. We have a 1968 M20C with a 201 windshield mod (We have Johnson bar so no gear switch interference on panel) We are currently doing a panel makeover and our current center stack concept goes as follows: TOP- GFC500, GMA245, GNS430 with eventual GTN650 upgrade, GNC255, GTX345 -BOTTOM, is that feasible and/or do any of you guys have a similar setup? The GNS430 and GTX345 are existing avionics of ours that we will be keeping. Other upgrades being done are a 10.6” G3X for the left seat, a batt.bkup. G5 (far left) and a portrait 7” G3X for the right seat
  6. Prop is trash, new scimitar one is arriving in January. Unsure if lead time is same as 390. Our deposit is already placed for our 360. So there’s really no turning back and hopefully everything will happen sooner.
  7. We looked at field overhaul but they would need parts from Lycoming that could end up taking just as long.
  8. (Follow up) we decided it would be better to go not waste money on the year down and put that towards a new engine instead.
  9. Had a Prop strike. Not worth the trouble of the whole inspection process just to squeeze 200 more hours out of it at most.
  10. We recently got a factory rebuilt IO-360-A3B6 on order from lycoming, we were being told a 6 month lead time for the engine up until we ordered it and now they said it could be 18 months out! Our current engine is already at TBO so we can’t fly, so is our prop and our new one is set to come in early January. We are doing some airframe and avionics work too which was all slated to be done by the spring and we planned for our engine to arrive this late May or early June. Now we could be waiting a whole other year. What is happening???
