  1. Thats what you get for 7k. I fly a jet with cat III autoland for living, and happy to hand fly the mooney on an approach. I would spend more money on Garmin but just have too many planes and projects.
  2. I start realizing it is a lot more hassle and same amount of money as just waiting and installing Aerocruze.

  4. My thinking was it will kill you in IMC before gyros spool down in case of a vacuum pump failure. Going back to the topic: Just spoke to Genesys support, Stec doesn’t sell their STCs for legacy products anymore.
  5. My personal experience with the system tells me it is not worth fixing. I’ve instructed in a dozen of old Mooneys, probably half of them still had the system but only in one it was not inop. We tried it in flight and it wasn’t working right, literally, it was pulling to the left with the knob all the way to the right. All servo cups in my plane have big cracks all hoses are dried. I still lean towards an old Stec maybe a 30. Buying a working system for 1-2k and paying for their STC… I wont have to pay for installation
  6. I will. I believe turn coordinator is still working.
  7. It still has brittain but the whole system is kaput and I wanted to trash it.
  8. I guess having an autopilot for under 5k was my daydreaming then.
  9. I have an 1968 M20F and installing gdl88 for adsb in. Want to put an autopilot at the same time but have only fraction of what I need for Garmin or Aero cruze. Has anybody had experience installing used S-tec and reusing their STC? What are my other options? I will be looking for complete system on ebay, from salvage yards and maybe someone here recently upgraded and wants to sell old autopilot.
  10. I spoke to Lone Mountain today actually and they said they could not justify having one of their staff being certified and current. They still have the equipment but no technician. What is the name a place in Utah?
  11. I like that price. I am ok with removing the prop and driving but thats too far. The only option I found so far is Santa Monica propeller, and they quoted me $550
  12. I have recently purchased 1968 M20F and it has Hartzell C2YK-1BF prop hub that requires a 100hr AD. Plane sat for awhile and I am fixing some other issues until we can safely fly it home. Does anybody know who can do the Eddy current testing? Or hear about a non AD hub/prop for sale? Also I am looking for the boost pump.
