  1. Howdy! My name is Owen Poirier, owner of Barefoot Aviation! We travel coast to coast for prebuys and would love to help! We’re mooney fanatics and known the vintage mooneys very well. I’ve personally owned a 65M20E, 79 M20J, and now I’m the proud owner of a 83 M20K Rocket. Let us know if you still need an inspection! (904) 362-7645 www.barefootaviation.con
  2. Do you happen to know where I could find a few of those clips?
  3. If anyone is still interested this was the final product after a day of fabricating and painting. A little before, during, and after. Now I have a spot for the recog lights when I’m ready to install.
  4. Quick question. I know the reorg lights have a square mounting flange at the back. Do you happen to know the size of that square?
  5. I have the WAT LEDs already in my possession but my bird has never had recogs installed. Trying to see what’s needed to mount them in the wing tips
  6. Hello again, I have a 1983 M20K that did not come with the wing tip recog lights. Mooney at one point offered a kit to install these on my M20K, when I reached out to Mooney they said the only reason they couldn't sell me the kit is because they no longer have the "RECOG" rocker switch. Trying to see if anyone has installed these in their bird before. Im installing new WAT LED strobes and would like to see about doing the recogs at the same time.
  7. Owned my M20K Rocket for a few months now and have already put about 100hrs on it. That means I’m starting to get picky about the interior I’ve been staring at for 100hrs. One funny thing that bugs me are these home made door pull straps, just ugly in my opinion. Anyone have a good idea for a clean replacement? Another side note, I’ll be removing all the interior plastics to repair some small cracking here and there. Anyone have a good technique for repairing the plastic? And any good source of the metal foil interior placards? thanks!

  11. Is this bird still available?
  12. Did you have the doublers fabricated or were you able to find a kit? I’d like to get this SB done on my bird as well
  13. give me a call if you’re free today 904-362-7645
  14. Howdy! I’m selling a clean 79 J with no damage history and a 450hr motor. Needs some avionics but it’s a very solid bird if you’re still looking!
  15. I’ve been doing some pretty extensive maintenance on this bird getting it up to my standards. I have removed every bit of interior (especially to clean the smell of cigarettes off it) and seen every inch of the steel structure. Fuel tanks are free of leaks, gear pucks are in great shape, and I’ve gone through every applicable SB, this is the only one outlying. First annual I spent two weeks cleaning the internal structure and addressing a lot of overlooked items. The bird isn’t 100% perfect but it’s getting there. I currently have no cracks so I’d rather install the single doubler than do the internal one as well and risk eventual damage to the rib. Just staying on top of a 1965 airplane, unfortunately a good amount of A&Ps don’t even reference the MM when doing an annual so I often see neglected birds, especially Mooneys unfortunately.
