The big difference in boats is fuel consumption reduction, and closer to theoretical pitch achieved (less slippage) Less engine load equals less noise. Less flow lost in the radial plane past the "tips". Less slip might allow higher speed before the tip goes supersonic. There's a lot more to this than noise reduction. Kind of a self ducted prop? How it will respond to altitude changes IDK?
