I just bought it April, so it may have always been that way. ATC mentioned it several time, but always on the ground. The antenna being shaded by the wing makes a ton of sense... not sure how to solve that though, since the wings are kinda crucial for the flying part. In all seriousness, I guess I have to figure out which antenna is for what and start there... Thank you for the input.

I am quite confused. Ground tells me that they can hardly hear me. I take off and do a com check which comes back loud and clear. Yesterday when I came back from a flight, I listened to the archived audio from LiveATC and I was perfectly audible until I touched down and they gave me taxi instructions. (without changing frequency or even touching the radio) I sounded like in a sandstorm under a helicopter. Any ideas what that could be or how to go about finding it? I have an Avydine 440 Nav with radio and a secondary Bendix King Radio.
