  1. Yeah the trim up just slowly chokes but the trim down works regardless. Both in the air and on the ground. It is very slow though? So I will check the voltage regulator as Jake suggested. Cheers.
  2. Thanks Jake. I will Look into the VR and the other suggestions here. I will check with my other Mooney folks at the airport to get a feel for their trim manually. Have a great day!
  3. Thanks for the reply. POH shows the system is the KFC 200. The switch works fine. the manual trim operation is fine. It feels like the trim motor can't pull the jackscrew any further.
  4. Thanks for the reply. POH shows the system is the KFC 200. The switch works fine. It is the trim up that goes about half way then stops.
  5. POH shows the system is the KFC 200
  6. My electric trim freezes about half way through nose up trim. Manual trimming is fine and free of any resistance. So I am assuming to start with the motor/clutch assembly? It slows to a stop. Has anyone had a similar experience?
  7. Thanks everyone. @KSMooniac. What about chipping on the MT from rocks/debris etc...?
  8. Thanks KSMooniac. I will look into the MT option. And appreciate the feedback.
  9. I was told it would produce more thrust on take off and climb? And isn't a 3 blade on average 2 inches shorter then a 2 blade? The weight is definitely a factor. I will look into the Hartzell composite as well. Thanks for your feedback.
  10. After a recent prop strike on my J, I am wanting to switch to a three blade. I have heard that Hartzell 3 blade props are hard to balance and produce an oscillation at certain rpm's. And that McCauley's don't have this problem. Has any one had this experience? And can you share your thoughts on the matter before I make my purchase. Thanks.
  11. CFII Daniel Riedling is in Cameron Park and has had a ton of time in my J doing my instrument cert prep. He also recently did a Mooney buyers checkout as well. Very skilled and knowledgable pilot and instructor. danielriedling@gmail.com
  12. Thanks Don. I will. Any thoughts on where to look for them? I assume I can find that info in the M20J maintenance manual.
  13. I will seek out the ground straps and check them. Thanks!
  14. Thanks for the input here. Brand new battery. A Concord. I trickle charge after every flight. The alt. is putting out 13.5 with all switches on at idle. I believe it could be a corrosion issue since it started after she was subject to some big rain storms. I don't have LED's yet but they are arriving soon. I have to find the grounds and start checking those.
