  1. Hello All, I’m leaning towards an impulse coupling problem. I’m having it diagnosed now. Thanks all and I’ll keep you posted!
  2. Thanks!
  3. Thanks All, It turns over and seems like it wants to start. In fact yesterday, it started and I flew to Half Moon Bar. It runs fine. I have an EDM 800 and it shows fuel flow is fine. I really think it's the starting procedure. I also think it might be temp related as it will not start in the morning. I see that some of you think that it floods easy, does this happen only with the prime or can opening the throttle cause flooding? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Sorry folks but I have not had great experiences on this site. I imagine a bunch of old curmudgeons waiting to pounce on anything that isn’t phrased exactly how they think it should be phrased and that appears to be the extent of the responses that I have ever received. Take this issue for instance, I am going to get a ton of responses that question the most obvious things like fuel, spark plugs, all of the first things that one would check, but no responses that go past that. For instance maybe someone has something to say about the sensitivity to flooding, or the us3 of a booster pump, or maybe their leaning procedure…no I get responses like “what did you do since the last time it started”. Oh yea that reminds me I removed the fuel pump and forgot to put it back in the plane! It’s no problem if you do not have a helpful suggestion, but maybe that would be a clue for you to either state that or better yet just don’t respond!
  5. I rest my case!
  6. Once again I made the mistake of posting to this site. It appears that there are a lot of people that want to tell me how to post, but don’t actually have answers. I have a mechanic and he and I are both stumped by the engine not starting. M231 k 1979, TSIO 360 and yes it has gas!! Assuming that everything works properly what is the secret that all of you extremely capable Mooney owners have for getting the dang thing started!!!
  7. If it gets me an answers, sure. Continental TSIO 360, M231K, plenty of fuel pressure, flow, etc. in starts to turn over but will not comit to the start. What’s the answer! The answer
  8. My engine will not start. Starter: hey, fuel pump: new, spark plugs: brand new…any thoughts?
  9. Okay it sounds like the gear warning. I think it goes away when I lower the gear. It’s not the stall warning. I will pull the breaker tomorrow!
  10. I am getting an audible beeping tone. I can’t yet correlate it with my speed but I suspect it is a gear warning or over speed alert. Does anyone know what this is? Thanks
  11. 1979 M231K, When the latch over the “T” Handel for the manual gear extension is unlatched, the gear actuator breaker may trip when you put the gear switch in the up position upon takeoff.
  12. Does any one know which terminal on my alternator I should connect my Hobbs meter to?
  13. When I start my plane the annunciator light for hi/low voltage illuminates. In does not go away until run up. Prior to this my radio and edm begin to flicker. Once I’m flying I am fine but I do get a warning on my edm that battery is at 11.3. My battery only lasts a couple of days before I need to recharge it. My battery is brand new. It sure sounds like a voltage regulator but I’m not sure if these are the symptoms. Does anyone know how I can be sure? Thanks Phil
