  1. That does make some sense, but I don't know if it makes $20,000 worth of sense. Especially considering that even though my GI-275 isn't a certified GPS, it will get me home alive all the same. I'm looking into an upgrade to my panel an I was wondering if it would be worth it to do dual GPS or not. Sounds like not really.
  2. Quite a few people run dual GPS NAVCOM setups, such as two GTN 650's; a GTN 750 and a GTN 650 and so on. What is the advantage of having two GPS units? What pilot workflow takes advantage of the second navigator? I couldn't find much on google so I'm asking here.
  3. I'm looking at picking up a Mooney 231 and I have heard that the turbo on that bird has a nasty reputation. Does anyone have any experience with how to fly these birds to keep the engine in good shape? Best practices, maybe?
  4. From what I can find, the portable altitude chamber is still running but the FAA has almost no information on it and the facility in OK City is possibly closed for COVID reasons. There is so little information out there it’s not even funny.
  5. Does anybody know anything about the hypoxia training (PROTE) that the FAA offers in Oklahoma City? The website has all the information about it but when you call the number it gives you a COVID message and a closed voicemail. Is the FAA ever bringing this training back or is it shelved for good and COVID is their excuse?
  6. I am doing the Single Piece Belly Panel modification on my ‘77 J model and I have heard that the antennas can be mounted internally to get them out of the airstream. Does anybody have any information on doing that part of the modification? I am trying to drum up some information for the IA doing the modifications.
  7. Has anybody ever imported a plane from South Africa? There’s a screaming deal on a 231 in Johannesburg on Controller.com that just looks tempting but I don’t even know enough to ask smart questions.
