So I walked away from this one. After hearing how the owner reacted to finding out there was a fuel leak and some possible corrosion, I kinda think he has an “oh well” additude. Makes me wonder what else may be hiding in this plane. As always thanks for the help guys/gals! pat

I love this sort of thing too! but unfortunately I am not a certified mechanic. Thanks for the info, would it be safe to fly with that type of leak or is that a get it done ASAP type of problem? I think can definitely get the price lowered now i think, thanks! haha.

Good evening all, Tonight i starting inspecting a Mooney M20C Mark 21 for purchase, all the logs seem to be in order (spent 10 hours researching and double checking AD's), but as i entered the cabin for the first time i smelt the dreaded fuel. After a few hours of removing panels and most of the interior i came across the source, right fuel tank on the inboard side. It seems to be leaking from the bottom row of rivets as seen in my pictures. It doesn't seem to be dripping down from the level sending unit gasket, nor does it look like the flexible hose is leaking. (its not dripping straight down. As i said i am in the pre-buy phase of buying this Mooney, so I'm wondering how big of a deal this is? should i just walk? or is this something that is reasonably common and would probably happen in any other Mooney?
