  1. So today on the way home (Pa) from Penn Yann NY I discovered the Manifold pressure gauge had failed. I started pulling throttle back after takeoff and the MP stayed at 30 Lbs at about 1-2000 ft and at 5,500 ft it was at 25 Lbs. The fuel pressure side of the guage was also not working. I took a few friends up 2 hours prior to the flight home and everything was working correctly.... Is there a possibility it could be a plugged line? or is it more likely a guage failure? Thanks

  7. Seriously? I was always skeptic about the S-Tec 30 but y'all got me convinced
  8. Ok, that's a big step for me anyways, I wasn't used to flying with any type of autopilot.
  9. Does the S-Tec 30 hold GS or is that done manually?
  10. Unfortunately he does not have the logs electronic, I did get the last 5 annuals that were done and as far as could tell everything looked good.

  13. Not for certain, I was thinking go down fly it, if I like then have Aviation Technology do a pre-buy or pre-buy guys. I'd have them possibly sign it off as an inspection? How does it sound?

  16. Disregard the Avatar just a fan ( but may need to do away with it ). I would however want to train for IR in it. I talked with the current owner he said the card needs updated but other then that its ready to go. I'm not sure if the 300 can be upgraded to WAAS? And when you say check which types of approaches is capable, what exactly do you mean?
  17. I looking at a 1975 Mooney M20F with a GNC 300XL TSO coulped to a S-tec 30 w/Atl & GPSS stearing. I'm wondering just how capable is a setup like this for IFR flying? Is it a decent setup or to be flying IFR would it need upgraded? Thanks.

  19. Hello Everyone, Me and my dad are looking to purchase a M20F. I was in contact with the CEO of the flight that I trained at and he said one thing to watch with the pre J models is that the tube gear rust. He made it sound like its a common problem with ALL the pre J models. Basically I wanted some feed back from Mooney owners, is it a common problem? is it something that needs to sway our decision or is it some thing that can be checked fairly easily and be repaired if need be?
