  1. Happy New Year! Hi all, I'm hoping to get back on the book early this year. My job and helping out my mother has eaten nearly all of my free time. But not to worry. I haven't forgotten about it. I'll post updates here and on thoseremarkablemooneys.com. If you'd like to be on the email mailing list, there is a link on the site above where you can sign up. Thanks for your patience, Tracy
  2. To Supercop0184 - Please visit http://www.thoseremarkablemooneys.com/mailinglist/ and sign up for the mailing list. Thanks for your interest, Tracy
  3. Update on the Mooney Book. Unfortunately, life intervened and my new job is eating up all my spare time. I am still working on it though and it will get done . . . eventually. Thanks and stay tuned, Tracy Ball
  4. Hi all, Tracy here. I made a simple website this weekend that has more about the books my father has written and will announce when the Mooney book is ready. There is also a mailing list to sign up for if you want to be notified by email when the book is ready for purchase. If you have given me your email address via the survey I put up at the top of this thread, you're already set for the email list. And of course, I'll announce news here too. Cheers and thanks! 5. Heh. I was hoping to get to ride in one.
  6. Hi all, Tracy here. I was curious if there are any Mooney owners in the Pittsburgh area? Cheers!
  7. I could definitely add these to an appendix with links in the ebook and as URLs in the print edition. Dad's book is pre-internet!
  8. And yes, there will be a digital version and a paper book version (hopefully with a hard cover and dust jacket).
  9. Thanks Greg - this one will. Is there anything else that people would like to see in the new edition? Speak now or forever hold your peace. ; ) Cheers and thanks, Tracy
  10. Hi all, Yes, I will be going through Amazon Self Publishing. The book will look different in layout than the original but will have the same info, new info and the same photos. I'm using a software called Vellum to recreate the book. The original book doesn't exist digitally - it exists as film flats that measure something like 5 feet by 4 feet. Scanning those was going to be many thousands of dollars. The reason this has been so difficult is that I spent about five years looking for a publisher to reprint the book — with no success. Another couple of years passed before technology caught up and Amazon was able to do print on demand and software became easier to use. Dad's other books (about Beech) are all still in print through Cable Publishing: https://cablepublishing.com/shop/page/3/ Cheers, Tracy
  11. Hi all, I am working on the revised book as we speak. I am hoping to have it ready by Oshkosh this year. I'm bringing the book up to present day. I'm also hoping to sell the book as a hard cover book and an ebook. Cheers, Tracy hello@tracyrball.com
  12. Hi Carusoam, Thanks for your interest. I don't have an author yet for the new updates - I'm open to suggestions. Cheers, Tracy
  13. I've done all of those. Thanks!
  14. Hi Mooney Enthusiasts, My name is Tracy Ball and my father was Larry Ball, Author of "Those Remarkable Mooneys". The book is currently out of print and I’m looking to reprint it. But the cost of reprinting it will be prohibitive as it will need to be transformed into a digital printer’s file. A small run of 2000 books is around $11,000. So before I invest this money or run a Kickstarter to raise it I first wanted to know if there was enough interest from in buying the book or an ebook. I’ve created a very short survey that will help me better determine interest. Please take a moment to complete it: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8YRX6W5 Thanks so much for your time! Cheers, Tracy Ball hello@tracyrball.com 503-805-1149
