  1. We finally got this problem fixed this week. We got an undamaged spinner and backplate that had to be modified to fit our plane. I didn't really like the idea of modifying a backplate but the company that did the modification provided paperwork certifying the modified part. I e-mailed the shop to see if they would provide contact info for the companies involved. I'll post again when I get a reply. Thank you to everyone that posted on this thread! I discussed the fit of the front bulkhead and hub with the shop to be sure they install it correctly, and we had the prop dynamically balanced to hopefully delay or reduce the chance of a recurrence. We decided to keep our original spinner as a backup, which was repaired before I started this thread. If someone wants it bad enough we may be willing to sell it, I'd have to talk to the other owners. The spinner had a small crack which was repaired. The backplate was a total loss as it was not able to be repaired. Awqward, A few people sent me private messages who had these parts, but we didn't end up purchasing them because of the difficulty of identifying the correct part. I plan to reply letting them know we got it fixed and could suggest they check with you if you like.
  2. I'm not sure what a front bulkhead is. Our spinner has a ring inside, is that what you mean? I attached pictures of it.
  3. Thanks for the info so far. I'll check with my partners if we're interested in the $2500 Hartzell option, but I'm hoping to spend a lot less than that. Here are a few extra details from the repair shop: -Aero Resources STC# SA8659SW, Installation of Mooney M20J 2-blade spinner. -The parts list that came with the STC paperwork lists part number 680031-027 for a Hartzell prop. This is the part number I’ve been looking for. (Mooney says they can make one for around $3,500 and 165 days.) -Hartzell propeller model HC-C2YK-1BF -A Service bulletin from Mooney that is attached to the STC paperwork, Propeller Spinner Bulkhead Inspection and Modification, lists the part number as 680031-3 and that number agrees with my M20J parts manual. (Maybe this part number replaces the -27 number?) -Part number 680031-017 is the part number for a McCauley installation (Just FYI if you see it come up.) [so this part is not what we need]
  4. Thank you kerry, I e-mailed your reply to the repair shop. I think they understand the matching of these parts better than I do yet. I'll let you know if we're interested.
  5. I am looking for a spinner backplate for an M20E with a Hartzell propeller and 201 spinner. Ours cracked badly and the repair shop said this is an unusual combination and has been unable to find one. Does anyone have one they would like to sell or know where we can get one? I attached pictures of our damaged one showing measurements. Thanks!
