  1. Thanks for the the suggestion. Can I assume that the bolt goes into a blind nut or nutplate as access to the area behind the step looks difficult? So there is no need to get a wrench on the back side? Thanks again. Rh
  2. I own a 1967 m20 e with a vacuum step system. I recently found the step sticking in the up position. I lubed the step. Not quite fixing the problem I attempted to clean the mechanism. In doing so the flat spring # sh8G28 popped off. Now I can't seem to get the spring to stay in place. I installed it three times and it twists on its self rather than coiling. Does anyone have any suggestions or tricks? Do I need a new spring? Thanks RH
  3. I have had my 67E model for only a few months. When purchased My goal was to get the Pcs and auto pilot working. Brittain industries is a great help. Testing the vacuum lines revealed a bad rudder servo. Less that a couple hundred invested to rebuild, and the entire system works great. Linked to a King 155 and a gns 430. So far cap, track work fine. The signal 'voltage' is from the 106A not the radio so the 2b box doesn't care what the nav source is. It's needle deflection that matters. I'm still working the flow of operation in flight. So far very helpful in IFR. It's hard to believe such an elegant system was installed in 1967!
  4. Hello Mooney Spacers, Im a pretty new owner of a 1967 M20e. just out of annual I'm concerned that the Ram air door doesn't seal well at the top of the door. The cable actually pulled loose right after annual, but I resecured it at the very end of the cable, so it looks as sealed as it will be. I can pass a card through the top of the door without friction. Is this ok? Normal for this door? I'm concerned that some dust will enter the engine. thanks, Mr. Obsessive Ron
  5. Thanks for the pointers guys. I didin't realize that I referred to both the stall warning and gear warning horns in my question. So much for writing when it's late. I'm sure it was picked up I am looking for the gear horn. I believe in my year both horns are in the some unit. I'll try to identify this box over the weekend. Thanks Again. Ron
  6. I'm new on MS having just bought a 67 m20 E a month ago. A great plane but the stall warning horn has a short in the wiring. Can someone tell me where the Gear warning horn is located? Does anyone have pics of the installation of the gear microswitch mounted on the throttle cable extension? I appreciate the help. So far just a few flight hours but so pleased with the flying qualities. Ron
