  1. I have heard that Joey Cole is expanding to Dalton Ga. Has anyone else heard this? If so, when might he bring a Mooney service center there?
  2. Once again I have to thank everyone responding. I appreciate your knowledge. Knowledge I just don't have. I will stick with the known quality of the 3 blade Hartzell. Joe
  3. I searched and read the previous info on the new 4 blade MT prop from John the company rep (I am assuming). My question for everyone is: Which would you go with? The 3 blade Hartzell standard, 3 blade Hartzell that goes on the Acclaim Type S (lighter) or the new 4 blade MT.
  4. Will try and do that. Thanks
  5. Thanks for the info. I have heard nothing but positive things about Cole Aviation. It is also the closest to me.
  6. Thank you, I got that information changed on my profile. Haven't quite figured out this whole site yet.
  7. Carusoam, I think you are thinking we are talking about the 2008 Ovation 3 that I was considering. I have chosen the 2000 Ovation with 1540 TT. That is why I was talking about and engine change etc. I can see how the confusion came about. Sorry. Thanks for your input
  8. What is the best way you have found to mount/use your ipad mini or even standard Ipad? Suction cup with a magnet mount Cup holder mount Knee pad mount etc Thanks
  9. Thank you everyone. I am certainly not a mechanic, I fix teeth and patients with painful infections. I need all the guidance you all can give. Sounds like the majority lean toward continuing to run this motor. Thanks aaronk25. Sounds like you know this plane. That is comforting to know it has been taken care of. This is a situation where I have to trust concensus and a good mechanic just like patients have to have some blind faith in me that I am going to treat them right. How many vote for the Acclaim Type S 3 blade Hartzell prop over the Standard heavier 3 blade Hartzell prop?
  10. Recommendations for Mooney service in the Southeast? If anyone brave enough to tell me where not to go, please PM me at jmilholm@bellsouth.net Thanks "Doc"
  11. I am just now purchasing this plane. It has been well taken care of and no issues. I had just gotten some advice that Continental will give you credit for your old engine if it is good vs if it has problems then the reman will obviously be more.
  12. 2000 Ovation with 1540 TT airframe and engine. Considering replacing engine now. Current compressions 62/80 74/80 60/80 60/80 70/80 70/80. I am told this is still good for a plane with 1540 TT. I will fly about 100 hrs per year max. but money is certainly not going to get cheaper than it is now especially by the time I will have to replace it. What do you think? Factory Reman. or Fact New? Or should I do it at all? Thanks
  13. Thanks Mike. I will keep that in mind once all the dust settles.
  14. Thanks again, trying to avoid the landmines. I am looking for a good "Mooney" instructor. Does anyone know one that would travel?
  15. Nice looking. Love that scheme. That was the same scheme that caught my eye on a paint scheme website. Would you mind sending a pic to my personal email that I could blow up? jmilholm@bellsouth.net
  16. Interested in a new paint job. Any recommendations? From Tennessee
  17. Also I apologize for my lack of knowledge, but what does IRAN stand for?
  18. Thanks guys. Due to your advice I contacted the Seller and they agreed to pay for the mags. This is being done at a Mooney Service Center in Atlanta area DLK Aviation. I have heard they are very reputable. Any opinions?
  19. I am not sure why I am being asked to pay for this other than 1. They are simply trying to get me to or 2. Since it is "Recommended" and not manditory, the brokerage co. who owns the plane doesn't feel they have to.
  20. So the mooney I am purchasing is in pre-buy. I get notice that the is a SB about a recommended SB on a 500 magneto check at 1562 TT. It will cost 1K at this current shop where the prebuy is taking place where most places charge 2K. Am I being taken to the cleaners? This is a 2000 M20R Ovation 2. Joe
  21. Thanks everyone. This Mooney community seems great. Nothing but help from everyone. I am thinking of having a 3 blade Hartzell installed immediately. Are there any drawbacks or reasons that I shouldn't or reasons that I should?
  22. Thanks for your information. I made the deal on this plane today.
  23. That is the one. It is also interesting because I am an Endodontis (Dentist specializing in root canal therapy) Would this be the same dentist that set the speed record in his black and silver Acclaim type S?
  24. Help with purchase decision between: 1. 2008 Ovation 3 GX, TT 340, G1000, GFC 700, NO WAAS, No Traffic (Except TIS), No SVT, 310 hp Platinum., like new, useful load 926lbs, $360,000 2. 2000 Ovation 2, TT 1530, King 225 AP, WAAS, Garmin 800 Traffic, No SVT, 280 hp non-platinum, 2 blade prop, Good paint and interior, Stormscope G500,530,430, useful load 1004 lbs, $215,000 Using it for hobbie, fun, trips mainly within 300 nm, finish IFR training in it, would like to have decent Useful load to take more than 1 other person. I am concerned about future cost to upgrade the 3 GX to WAAS due to ADS-B mandate. 2000 model already had WAAS. I will probably not fly more than 100 hrs or so per year. All advice welcome. Thanks
  25. Brand new to site. In process of purchasing 2008 Ovation gx3 with gfc700 AP. What is the upgrade cost to get WAAS? What is the best option for ADS-B In/Out. Should I push for the ADS-B for traffic or invest in Avidyne 600 or equivalent?
