When the Acclaim came out back in 2006 I didn't care for the Whelen 600 series Nav/Strobe that Mooney went with. I've heard other people describe them as a wart on the wingtip. File photo:    The previous enclosure on the wingtip on the Bravo/Ovation/Encore/Allegro, etc  looked a lot better.  I was sure that Whelen made an LED upgrade, but my first thought after I recently bought the airplane in November was just to leave them in place until they started to fail down the road
