POTUS Bus Tour. Would you like to discuss politics? It seems to permiate it's way into GA at every turn.

"Hey....are you The President of the United States"???? .... "No, but I d-i-d stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night".

I thought it was the guys in the TFR department trying out their new TFR mapping software. I was supposed to meet my family when this came up. Not worth the hassle...

Maybe the pres needs to stay at a Holiday Inn Express it couldn't hurt.

PITA yes, but at least it is a rolling TFR in that each of the restrictied areas are about 2 hours as the bus moves on.

another good reason to file an IFR flight plan, ATC keeps you safe.

Yes, incredibly complicated.  I always fly IFR when on cross country just for reasons like this.

Will this be the new thing with the new bus?

I'd like to propose a block to this potentially embarrassing and offensive thread... ( insert sarcasm emoticon here (unavailable on iPad))

I'd like to propose a block to all potentially embarrassing political TFRs, all of which ARE offensive . . . but we know that won't happen. In the meantime, as pilots we need to know about these things to prevent personal embarrassment and risk to our certificates.

Seems to me that the biggest threat to the president is not a light plane flying over trying to do harm, but the new generation of drones that are coming online. While they probably can't carry enough weight for some type of armament, that will certainly change over time. I'm wondering if the powers to be are seeing the larger picture.

THIS IS GETTING REALLY OUT OF HAND!!! I'm writing to AOPA to complain that they are not doing a damn to defend our liberty.

Each year I write them a check and I ask myself, what have they actually accomplished?  They talk about all the things they are going to do but never seem to follow through on execution.

AOPA "defend our liberty". That is not their job. If Congress does not do a damn thing about anything (10-15%% approval rating!) what do you think AOPA can do?. Sorry I forgot, Congress is concerned about abortion, gay rights, voting fraud and Obamacare. I guess that if they solved those 4 things we could create several million jobs.

AOPA is too busy trashing Social Security and Medicare to do anything about TFR's.

I'm getting sick of this website. My Biden comment was a joke. What I've realized is that you should only joke about politics with your friends.

I'll come back when I need some useful information. But I won't be checking in anymore. Because there's too much tension here and picking through the useful information isn't worth the harassment and intolerance of the majority here. On both sides.

Stay safe everyone. That's the real reason we should be here.
