carusoam
Plan your flight, fly your plan... hope and wishful thinking make a lousy flight plan. I hope there is enough fuel to get to my destination, I wish I filled up before I left. mooneygirl
My Dad [and of course he was a Mooney driver] said two things while I was growing up: 1) There are old pilots, and there are bold pilots, but there are no old bold pilots. 2) You fly like the famous Chinese pilot OneWingLow

piperpainter
There is no way I can land this airplane! (examiner looks at watch) "Well, I bet in 2 hours your going to land this plane weather you think you can or not!"

flyguy241
There are two kinds of retract pilots; those that have landed wheels up and those that will.
DonMuncy
Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. A great landing is one after which you can use the plane again.
Earl
1) Flying is hours of tedium and boredom interspersed with moments of sheer terror. 2) Aviation in itself is not inherently dangerous. But to an even greater degree than the sea, it is terribly unforgiving of any carelessness, incapacity or neglect. 3) from my Dad: It's not the fall that hurts you, its the sudden stop at the bottom. Apply that to flying.....
scottfromiowa
Keep your airspeed up.
Jeff_S
Two that relate to aircraft ownership: 1) There's a fine line between "airworthy" and "spending money". 2) I know there's money in aviation because I put it there!
Mooney65E
For the VFR pilot: Time to spare...go by air.

Hank
My favorite: to make a small fortune in aviation, start with a large fortune. And a carryover from RC models: nose heavy flies poorly, tail heavy flies once.
The-sky-captain
If you are ever faced with a forced landing at night, turn on the landing lights to see the landing area. If you don't like what you see... turn em' back off.

Earl
Just thought of another one. When an old pilot was asked if he had ever tried skydiving he answered, "I never saw the sense in jumping out of a perfectly good airplane".
