KSSI. St. Simons Island. You can walk to dozens of great restaurants. 1 mile walk maybe. Or have a cab pick you up. Try Brogen's. I miss that place.

I know it's west of you and a little further, but if you like oysters, I highly recommend flying down to Apalachicola (KAAF) and taking the crew car to Boss Oyster. I went last month and the raw oysters in the shell were the fattest oysters I've ever seen.

Hey Philip

My favorite is Jeckyll Island. It is a short walk, south, to the historic district. It is a hit with everybody I take. You can eat seafood on the dock, burgers at the pool or a little more upscale at the hotel. I recommend walking, but the hotel will send a van or you can take a Red Bug. You can tour the mansions, walk the shops, see the turtle hospital or just hang out. St Simon is nice and you can usually get a courtesy car. Other options are St Augustine, but that is more of a day trip. Great barbecue in Claxton they have an old police car for a courtesy car. Drop me an email or call if you want more details on any of them.

Douglas, GA has a BBQ joint at the end of the field. Douglas is an old WWII USAAF training field. A lot of the old pictures of the base in the restaurant. Might want to call to verify as it has been a few years since I've been there.

Thats a good site. Curious why some of the resturants i been to recently are not on there. I will continue my search, but thank you

The site relies on us to populate the entries, so if you know of some that aren't on there, by all means add some reviews. It is free, and you won't get spammed with crud.

I second it, a great stop. Have seafood. Crabs. Yummy.
