Someone mentioned Brave as a browser... On a similar note, one thing to consider doing if you're somewhat technically-comfortable is to set up a Pi-Hole instance on your home network (a Raspberry Pi running a special system to provide DNS + an extra layer of scrutiny). Even in default mode it will "eat" resolution requests for various ad banner, tracking, and malware sites. Occasionally breaks some ad integration you might want, but generally just speeds things up and you're not using your connection to serve yourself ads. You can ad or remove things easily (sites, special blacklists etc). This is what I do. I have a Pi-Hole server running at my house that does DNS over HTTPS to Cloudflare, and I also run a WireGuard server on the same box. Every device I have uses VPN via my WireGuard server, so I get the Pi-Hole ad blocking everywhere 3
mooniac58 Posted November 23 Report Posted November 23 Just an update for everyone - it looks like after a few days of working with my hosting company they FINALLY a) admitted this was a problem with their top level DNS servers and b) they managed to fix the issues. I am not sure what exactly was wrong but it was something with the SOA (start of authority) DNS records for the domain and something that is outside of my control. So users that were not able to access the site with certain ISPs (Verizon and CenturyLink are ones I am aware of) should now be able to find our site again. This also fixed the email delivery issues we were having with Yahoo (and their subsidiaries like AOL and SBCGlobal) and Apple as far as I can tell looking at logs over the past 12 hours the emails seem to be going through now. If you do have any issues I would appreciate you letting me know by shooting me a message here at @mooniac58 Thank you for your patience! Craig 1
