So what, there is no shortage of unapproved parts that could be installed. And probably no one will be wiser till there is an investigation after the accident. Can you imagine the law suits even if it wasn’t a factor in the accident? Regardless, why take chances with such a vital part.

I can't image that there are that many companies making these clamps.  And that there are any companies that is making the same clamp in an auto and airplane version with any difference.

That Garrett clamp looks suspiciously like the unlabeled spot-welded clamp with no part numbers on it that I recently replaced with a proper new riveted clamp after a 4-month wait. No mention in the logs of what the old clamp was or when it was installed. Before my ownership.

Received my clamp today and after inspection there are no spotwelds only riveted.  There is also no way that one could add rivets to their old ones as the outer rivets are put in first and then the v band part is attached.
